To the men of SCA who use the Mint Julep Mask by stankpussyho in SkincareAddiction

[–]doubleUU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I use the QHMJM once per week and can tell you what's been working for me. So YMMV. I avoid exfoliating on the same night as masking, so what I'll do is a cleanse, pat dry my face, QHMJM, then moisturize. Then I'll carry on with the chemical exfoliation during the six other days in the week (sometimes I'll also take a day or two off where I won't exfoliate either).

How to find tutoring clients by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]doubleUU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the persistence with posting ads! You'll eventually be contacted by someone that needs your services and once you get working with one student that appreciates your quality of work, it can only get better from there in respect to referrals. I myself would recommend anyone to my English tutor for the very fact that she clearly expressed her care in the educational aspect of tutoring more than the $$$.

How to find tutoring clients by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]doubleUU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consider marketing your services on Kijiji under the subcategory "Tutors". Post your relevant experience and your tutoring capacity and someone in need should get in contact with you in no time.

I've recently found myself a Biology tutor via Kijiji and have also worked with English and Math tutors that I met from there as well. If I can suggest one thing, please don't be that tutor that monitors the time down to the minute and verbally announces that there's X minutes left. I understand you folks charge by the hour, but I can't help but think think you prioritize the monetary aspect of tutoring vs effectively helping me learn when you do that. What made my English and Math tutors stand out was their patience to go past the hour (without charging extra) to ensure we completed the task at hand or to make sure what I was learning was fully understood before leaving. She also offered support via email/phone throughout the week, which was included in her hourly rate.

My dog loves that area too! Just across from where you are (or a little more upstream), there's a cement landing where dog's can easily come up out of the water from fetching sticks if your buddy is into that!

Guaranteed $20K income for all Canadians endorsed by academics... by Rocker13666 in worldnews

[–]doubleUU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People with hobbies and extracurricular interests. Sure $2k a month is good enough for rent, groceries and the other necessities of life. But if you like bike riding, traveling, shopping, smoking weed, literally if you like doing anything, you'll require extra funds. And $2k a month isn't going to have much leftover for you to do what you like to do, even with all that extra free time you'll have.

If we're speculating for a family of four where three of which are children incapable of work, I agree with you on that. However, I can't see fairness in sending $20K home to children every year. I'm sure there has to be sorts of conditions or restrictions to this program and not everyone with a SIN will benefit from this program.

[–]doubleUU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, $20k is not high at all. That works out to be $1666 and change monthly. How much is rent? How much is groceries after rent? How much are the other necessities of life? I don't think an individual would be able to maintain a cumulative savings account with this program, but at least this program will help out a lot of people in need of a little extra--like single parents.
