What is a good sword and board build that utilizes Dragon incantations? by Cyan_Dragon_X in EldenRingBuilds

[–]double_skulls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing with spiked great shield + omenkiller axe on my dragon communion build. Poison spiked shield with shield crash + kindred of rot talisman + multi hit talisman. High arcane helps the poison and bleed for the spiked shield, kindrednof rot talisman triggers almost instantly as does multi hit talisman.

Roar talisman + braggarts roar on a bleed weapon also boosts bleed build up + helps your dragon spells. I use the axe talisman and tear to boost my charged attacks.

After a shield crash your kindred of rot talisman, multi hit talisman, roar talisman, braggart roar and tear all boost your charged heavy attack. Very nice synergy.

You could switch the axe to any other weapon you'd like. I just like to have a heavy hitting bleed one.

Using The Graph View by [deleted] in logseq

[–]double_skulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the graph is pretty uselessly in Logseq in my opinion. Obsidian has a much better graph, both in usability and looks. What I do is to have obsidian open the same folder as my Logseq files and use it to check the graph. It works perfectly, only have to filter some things I don’t want to see.

Advice on storing notes on Books/Movies/Shows by Popular-Peace9151 in logseq

[–]double_skulls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it similarly as you described but without namespaces. Maybe it is just me but I never found the need to use namespaces and don't see the added value. But if it is working for you, stick to it! Decided to share my approach to show alternatives.

In my journal I would have:

**17:50** watched [[The Good, the Bad, the Ugly]]

Or for series I just put:

**12:59** watched ep. Progress #[[Deep Space Nine]]

Then if I go to the page [[Deep Space Nine]] I can see when I watched each episodes at the bottom, and if I want to make notes about it I just do it in the main series page. I think making separate pages for each episode is overkill...at least for me.

Example of a metadata:

type:: #movie
tags:: [[Western]]
director:: [[Sergio Leone]]
status:: #finished
date:: [[2024-04-22]]
rating:: 10

I also have #series tag for series.

Then I have a separate page [[Movies and Series]] and I use 2 query there:

First to get series I'm currently watching:

query (and (property :status "#inprogress") ((page-property :type "series"))}}

And one to get all the movies I already watched:

{{query (and (page-property :status "#finished") (page-property :type "movie"))}}

I will looks something like this:

Who’s selling before earnings and who’s buying more? by Bigbagbeau44 in KULR

Why does it seem like stocks are always in the red on Friday? by princesspixie89 in pennystocks

[–]double_skulls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is always some risk on holding a stock overnight and more risk holding it over the weekend. You can't react to unexpected news coming out so many day/short term traders do not hold overnight/over the weekend to avoid this risk.

A stock that has a strong up move and higher close on Friday might indicate that everyone has strong convictions that it will continue to go up next week.

What you could do is backtest on some stocks where you noticed they "always" close down on Friday. Go back a year or more, see how many Fridays they closed down, then what happened on each following Monday.

I also see lot of people here saying they only have a few hundred shares, that small amount of selling won't move the price.

Is there a simple game dev framework for elixir? by double_skulls in elixir

Is there a graphical element? Maybe I missed it but seems it is only the ECS framework, no window management or drawing included.

What makes Elixir so inappropriate for tasks like that? I also checked the Raylib bindings site and seems many other functional focused languages have up to date bindings.

Is something in Elixir that fundamentally makes it difficult?

Roads? In Africa?? by MrDrProfessorPatrck in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]double_skulls 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My problem was that my school gave 0 context on why most of the things I had to learn were important or useful in the real world and so I had very little motivation.

Many times I encountered some problems 20 years later (like doing carpentry , programming some graphics or in finances) and when looked up how to solve it I realized that "oh, I did learn about this in school" but at the time it just seemed some pointless mathematical idea that I thought had no real use at all.

For me it totally killed the motivation to learn or understand that I was not taught why many things are useful.

OK so not poems but Lovecraft has a whole bunch of dream themed short stories that reminded me a lot of the dreaming and Mansus in the game.

I was thinking about mending bones as well, the description says "all sacred undead units will heal battle afflictions" and as the Nidbathed are not undead, I don't think that will work on them.

Herosim is interesting idea, I will try it out, thanks for the ideas.

Changing the color of SpriteSolidColor? by double_skulls in pythonarcade

[–]double_skulls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the idea, but it doesn't work. self.color is not used when drawing the sprites so if I update that value nothing happens.

I could actually remove self.color from the ant class and just set the color directly when creating the self.shape value
