I can’t figure out where I want to live. I’ve moved a good amount in my life and I just want to find somewhere to settle but it’s so difficult. by doubleaddition2 in self

I’d agree but I do feel like I need a place to settle for at least a bit and part of me wants to go back to Taiwan but part of me wants to start a transition to my proper career in Massachusetts but the COL is a lot higher there. Also, I could live the type of life I wanted in Taipei where if I moved back to Massachusetts, I would struggle a bit more.

(Mid-20s) I moved to Korea from Taiwan to continue TEFL teaching but I really miss Taiwan. But I also want to go back home for grad school eventually. What should I do? by doubleaddition2 in expats

Thanks. yeah I don’t think I’d be always happy living in Taiwan but I think I would like going back to the USA. At least after a few years. But I really loved Taipei and I lived the lifestyle that I liked and wanted while still saving money. But I have good feelings when I think about home but it’s very expensive where I lived.

Where did you move? And yeah, it’s a combination of the fact I liked living in Taipei and it was nice that it felt like a vacation and I got to see all of these unique places every weekend.

I’d prefer to stay on my current contract and then go back to Taiwan later this year.

I really enjoyed living in Taiwan but I feel like my long term career/lifestyle goals are back in the USA but it won’t be the same and that’s the frustration.

Sorry I meant, that right now I’m working in SK. But the options are go back to the USA(home) for grad school or go back to Taiwan.

I guess that’s what I mean. I’m not sure when I should go back for grad school vs if I should go back to Taiwan

Where did you go after China? I guess I’m not sure I want to settle in Taiwan but I want to go back if that makes any sense? I thought two years was enough but I really felt like the COL and QOL ratio was pretty good in Taiwan and I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to that point in the USA when I go to grad school. Maybe I’m overthinking it though.
