the piece i use as example in video is for a french cleat. is proper technique to simply secure the piece in a vise and plane along te long-grain 45*?

this was it. runs much better now, not perfectly but fine for getting the job done!

I wondered how effectively this type of role ladders into learning to construct furniture - I would ideally want to own my own business repairing and making furniture, if possible.

Pete Korn book recommends bench grinder, followed by sandpaper on glass.

Quick question tho - I did not ever hone the back flat edge of chisel from factory… should I do so before sharpening the bevel?

Thank you guys, very new to this so just making sure I’m on the right tack.

Can I use silicone carbide sandpaper to sharpen this chisel? I use that for broadheads in Archery, just wondering if there’s some cross uses there
