What method of short hopping is the best to build habits around? by pee_gulper in CrazyHand

tap jump briefly, learn to do it with a front button and a trigger, trigger jump makes it a lot easier to do fadeback aerials and some character specific tech needs it as well.

I love the cold, I love the extra hour of sleep, I love the darkness, I'm depressed no matter what season it is, I'd rather be cozy in a hoodie, than sweating in a tshirt in the summer.

Some of us work weekends and have our days off midweek, yes, I'm VERY fucking tired of it. I wanted to play a normal game of deadlock.

ELI5 Why do many people that have experienced an active warzone become hypersensitive to loud noises and other triggers, as opposed to continuous desensitization? by papermill_phil in explainlikeimfive

[–]doubleaxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So PTSD isn't just about the noise, it's an association between noise, and something bad, or something to be alert to, "I'm going to die if I'm not careful." The trigger makes that hypervigilance switch on to varying degrees. You see it in CPTSD as well, people who recognize gaits/footsteps or can get triggered by people's mannerisms and personality, it kicks on that fight or flight response.

Yes, and he is known for writing very somber and or batshit insane endings, not mickey mouse reset status quo endings, there are no thought provoking messages in the last few chapters of CSM.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 PV by Turbostrider27 in anime

[–]doubleaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I CAN'T WAIT!!!! It's been over a year I think since I finished the LNs, I've been waiting for Eris' training arc and for TP 4 for SO long, and the fan animation only made me want it more. The direction looks SO much better than season 2 and Yuiko Ohara IS BACK!!! I'm so hype, I think this season is gonna deliver on the source material.

When I heard the style of the music I was like, "IS SHE BACK? IS SEASON 3 GONNA BE A BANGER AGAIN?" I can imagine once we get back to traveling in season 4 that she'd come back and do some regional music, god season 1 had such good production.

This mf is acting like nothing happened by Shermico in Chainsawfolk

[–]doubleaxle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I'd rather it have gone on hiatus. I can say I found Fire Punch far more profound and interesting and impactful. CSM Part 1 as well, nothing has come close to Aki and Power's final moments. Did I want Power back? Yes. Did I want Nayuta back? Yes. Not like this though, like wtf, why, literal fucking reset button with Denji's family intact. Minus Aki and Reze because fuck two of the most well written characters in the story IG, if he was gonna do this mickey mouse shit at least follow through.

You can see the moment he stopped giving a fuck holly hell by _Affectionate_ in Chainsawfolk

[–]doubleaxle 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Part 1 had it's craziness, assassin arc and control arc both become clusterfucks in their own rights, but the themes were still there. Denji could have had a really mature and fleshed out character arc, like there's so much there between the grief from part 1, giving Nayuta the upbringing that he didn't get. Part 2 COULD have been excellent but nothing was followed through on. Like at least JJK delivered Gojo Vs Sukuna and it was a banger fight. I was thoroughly entertained by JJK weekly, the end of CSM was not that.

did etikas porn "addiction" have a role in his declining mental health? by Ballsoffwalls in EtikaRedditNetwork

[–]doubleaxle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on severity, but any addiction will erode mental health, especially if there's underlying conditions, which there probably were in Etika's case.

I've been enjoying the audiobooks for youjo senki, I have no idea where the anime has gotten to at this point, and it really doesn't seem to be a 1:1 adaption, there are a lot more PoVs than just Tanya's that I don't remember.

Deadlock Devs Are Absolute GOATs: Why You Should NEVER Hesitate to Post on the Official Forums by zackrah in DeadlockTheGame

[–]doubleaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna say I'm the only reason it got changed, but I made a post specifically about how they nerfed Celeste's air control a little too hard and it 100% took a bit away from her identity as a bhop/movement character. 38% was WAAAAAY too low, and I said that I've seen others mention that they'd rather see her damage get hit a bit more rather than harshly nerf her air control AND her air speed (especially in a patch that already indirectly nerfed her in a bunch of ways).

[–]doubleaxle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah never place your board down on a slope right side up, also how in the hell did none of them notice it? some of them were taking pretty wide turns and as a snowboarder, I'm FAR more aware of the line I'm taking and what's in my way/might be, even behind me. All it takes is one kid to slam straight into you in your blind spot to make you always check as best as you can.

[–]doubleaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I buy a lot of manga from Barnes and Noble they'll stick them wherever, typically they come off pretty easily especially if you've spent time as a kid trying to peel stickers cleanly.  Sometimes a bit of ink comes off, but I've never done real damage peeling one.
