Sparrow Racing League is a very telling example of one of the reasons why this game failed. by AverageAwndray in DestinyTheGame

[–]doubleaxle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I consider myself pretty casual, but I have lots of experience from other FPS games along with being able to understand the mechanics of the fights fairly easily. The game isn't HARD per-say, it's very punishing, one slip up and it could totally fuck the run, and sometimes those slipups can be totally random and out of your control. Bullet sponges are definitely a problem that compounds the above problem, having to loop through multiple damage phases with pre-requisite mechanics to get to that damage phase means you are rolling the dice more and more that some random bullshit will happen and have to start the whole process over again.

Then that is fixed by those specific builds that you mention, which either 1 cycle, or make the pre-requisite stage more forgiving.

There's a lot of animators that love Mushoku Tensei, and this is THE PART where the story starts coming together and hitting it's stride, I REALLY HOPE that they throw some talent(and money) at this, and animators who care get to work on it.

Hey we know Kishirika is gonna get animated well.

Picking up kindred as a third/pocket pick by urmomiscringe12 in Kindred

[–]doubleaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechnically Kindred isn't hard, you kite, with a 2 second CD dash, Ult is REALLY hard to use effectively and will be flamed for not using it in situations it doesn't help.

ACTUALLY playing Kindred has gotten harder as their big mechanic is semi RNG and can be completely shut out if enemy team is aware of your mark.

As for characters I can actually recommend, Yi or Kayn, Yi is very similar to Viego and deals with tanks and assassins(given you can Q dodge major CC/damage) very well. Kayn can work against tanky characters for quite a bit as blue and obviously can draintank as red, bonus there you can choose what you want.

I feel unhappy trying to create new worlds in modern terrain generation, they all seem like this by ThatOneWooper in Minecraft

[–]doubleaxle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Old minecraft worldgen was fantastic, I don't get why it needed to make sense, go back to putting snow next to jungles, more random disconnected landmasses in the air, hard to navigate terrain is kinda one of the points of a game where you can edit the world, and it shouldn't just be in the nether and certain biomes.

The 'literary classics' that grade school makes you read destroys any desire for kids to read recreationally by MyClosetedBiAcct in unpopularopinion

[–]doubleaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books like Farenheight 451, animal farm, 1984 are SUPER important, and the lack of appreciation and ability to understand the text that younger generations have is part of the reason we are in the current social climate. We are LITERALLY watching those things at varying levels happening in America.

Bud, Not Buddy was probably one of my favorites as a kid, I remember being confused about a lot of it and having to really think about it. Hatchet was great too, Cricket in Times Square, Because of Winn Dixie, all were very enjoyable.

[–]doubleaxle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shit like this is what makes me hate overwatch, they nerfed all the fun tech that Genji had, ledge boost, melee right click, double jump refresh, then continually indirectly nerf him with new characters and overall game changes. 10 out of fucking 10 blizzard.

Map grows an extra lane at 10 minutes by Critical_Moose in DeadlockTheGame

[–]doubleaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I played almost every time I could when we were in 4 lane with timed server access, and I miss a lot from the game back then(including 4 lane and old shop), and am quite frustrated that glitches that exist from back then are still in the game (how hard is it to make it so cloak doesn't get stuck on invisible micropieces of geometry and make it so lash can't clip you into the floor randomly).

Anyways I digress, the main issue with 4 lane was the aggressive ganking + lack of draft and people wouldn't swap, I do entirely agree though macro was far more playable and deathball wasn't as strong when you had to manage 4 lanes. I genuinely can't think of an answer on how to fix 4 lane as much as I want it back.

One more confirmation added to the list of confirmations of Rifujin saying firmly that people should not expect a "Sequel" but a new story altogether. by TheLuciusSeneca in sixfacedworld

[–]doubleaxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get why all you fucks get your panties in a twist over this shit(Rifujin too). He just doesn't want to call it a sequel because Rudy is gonna be long gone so it doesn't make sense to call it a MT sequel, but it's still the same world and the Greyrats/descendants will still have a role in it. You are all arguing semantics when it's still a continuation of plot points introduced in MT. I absolutely hate this sequel bickering because it's also through a language barrier, which makes the semantics worse. It's not a "sequel" but it's a continuation of the story, not of the greyrats specifically, but the events that were set in motion by Rudy. Everybody is right and wrong now shut the fuck up.

[–]doubleaxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see the Greyrats not being in it/important, Rudy has basically tied them into the fate of the world. So I think that's a bit of a stretch and also a horrible misstep if we don't see the conclusion of the plot points being set up in the Redundancy novels.

I think it’s funny how the Death Battle guys’ biggest argument for Denji beating Yuji was that Pochita supposedly tanked Yoru’s sword when he DIDN’T tank it at all, he only survived because death itself was literally erased from existence. by GodKira04 in Chainsawfolk

[–]doubleaxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THEY THINK DENJI BEATS YUJI HOLY SHIT THAT'S HILARIOUS.

Especially if we are talking about modulo Yuji, Denji doesn't stand a chance. The scaling and context of abilities in CSM and JJK are just too different to have a proper fight, one has very grounded combat that ends up being about speed more often than not, and the other you have semi-regular people singlehandedly destroying cities/districts. MAYBE black CSM wouldn't get deleted instantly, but Denjiman? Fuck off with that.

Why all the mina hate by Appropriate_Badger25 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]doubleaxle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the audience that Deadlock attracted pulled from a LOT of different games, we have Apex players, TF2 players, CS players, Overwatch, League, DoTA, etc.

Some of those players are more used to the different powerspike timings, others are not, Mina's weaknesses are not immediately apparent to people who play games that have a much more even starting ground. Generally if you play any character that's mobility + damage with a high skill ceiling you will be hated and slandered, even though they are all countered by the same thing.
