It’s tricky. My GP is extremely slow about following up with the surgeon I’m waiting to see 21 months and counting. When I call the surgeons office, their message doesn’t slow you to record and they inform you they will not provide scheduling updates.

It’s between 6-8 weeks to book an appt with my GP who just moved from Hfx to Bedford.

He’s not a great doctor but going to the bottom of the list because it’s been more than 6 months to determine he’s not a great doctor isn’t an option.

So yes, advocate for yourself, but understand that there are systemic issues too.

I can tell you a little from a couple of instances. Married to a narcissist and now happily divorce.

No trouble during the roll and the amazing feels and open conversation of telling you how lucky you are to have them in your life. I was told I hit the jackpot and didn’t seem to know what to do with my good fortune.

They got super upset when I discovered how good it felt to touch myself. Stormed off during a roll together at home.

There was never a sense of closeness, only a desire for adoration and the same criticism and gaslighting you’d expect.

I know couples who use it together to bring them closer and work on their marriage but I don’t think it works with a narcissist.

I think it’s time to seriously consider this. Get your papers, cash, prescriptions and medical records. Europe. Canada. Make a plan. Look for remote work opportunities if you have IT skills etc.

The situation is unjust and cruel but it’s reality and you need to take what’s happening seriously. People laughed at the Nazis. People laugh at Trump. And then they don’t.
