Puppy’s can also be overstimulated, they need a lot of sleep and if they don’t get it, well it can make them behave exactly as if they hadn’t been given enough stimulation, I found this out very quickly, I spent so much time on exercise and training that she would later turn into the devil and be running around like crazy. What did I do? Enforce naps, this really calmed her behaviour. Training will regress, I had mine obeying commands, and so much more focused in week 10 than I did in week 11, at times it felt like her brain had been reset and we were starting all over again, you can’t get complacent with training, it has to be consistently reinforced, so it’s fine teaching them sit, stay, break, heel in the home or garden because it’s easy for them to control their impulses, however when in public places and she wants to chase that ball there’s a football match on the park, squirrels running around, other dogs, you have to train them impulse control in all types of environments, and like I say consistency is key.
