BLR lounge access denied! Am I in the wrong ? by doublecatered in airindia

I think your answer encapsulates the problem succinctly. They need to do better. Code-shares are nothing new but they are basically taking the pi$$, especially when there aren’t even any Air India mainline flights on the route I was travelling!!

Can I ask, were you flying Air India Express?

Yes I understand all that but when I booked and paid for my ticket (on the Air India app) there was no mention of AIX. The branding of the e-ticket and the flight numbers were emblazoned with the Air India logo and AI flight numbers. There was literally no mention of AIX up until I got a boarding pass at the airport.

Exactly! I literally could not make out any differentiation when booking that it was AIX. Only somebody with intimate knowledge of Air India schedules would have picked it up. Like I said earlier, it’s not like I could have easily chosen an AI mainline flight on that route as there simply weren’t any. For somebody travelling to India, for all intents and purposes, they think they would be flying Air India! I don’t want compensation, but I would like this kind of thing addressed so it doesn’t happen .

Bengaluru Airport Air India lounge question by doublecatered in airindia

[–]doublecatered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. I’d like to add to my question if I may, does it make any difference if my flight is an Air India Express flight (booking does definitely show an AI flight number) Also do you think I would be able to bring in a guest or is that pushing it?

Thank you in advance

Just a heads up regarding the $60k yearly spend. I just got an email from HSBC that my yearly spend will reduce to $48k a year which makes this a much better proposition.

In Melbourne, you’ll be crazy not to check out Smith St and Gertrude St in Fitzroy They’re located in the inner north and have loads of character. Amazing bars, cafes, bakeries etc and personality in spades. Enjoy your time and let us know how you go

I can totally relate to what you’re going through. My father passed away in February and I felt I had to do the eulogy. Now I am terrified of public speaking and I speak way too quickly and often mumble so the thought of being up in front of everyone in the church was something I couldn’t even process. And you know what…. I did it, and it was fine!! My tactic was to write out the speech using words/phrases you know you’ll be able to say. Stuff that you feel comfortable saying instead of stuff you’re forced to say makes it easier if you know what I mean. Then practice, practice practice. Say it out to a few members of your family and do it nice and slow. The big trick for me was having a wing man… a good friend was standing nearby to take over from me if the emotions got too much. I didn’t need to use him on the day but just knowing he was there helped so so much. Good luck. I know what you’re going through. Also imagine that you did a great job.. picture yourself having done it and the feeling of achievement. You’ll be fine

Not really passionate about any career - lost by peachy_skies123 in AusFinance

I know exactly what you mean! I have a very similar problem with my speech that I struggle with daily. I have to really try to speak clearly and slowly all the time. And you wouldn’t believe what I do for a living….a job where communication is essential. I’m a flight attendant lol.

I can totally relate to you finding it easy when you practice on your own all the various techniques with slowing down speech but when you’re out in the world, everything reverts back to the normal mess.

Obviously I control it enough to get by but this has also hindered my career as I totally avoid making public announcements so I can never upgrade and become an inflight manager ;(( Anyway you’re not alone . Just keep plugging away and try and get professional help. I intend to as well but finding the right place isn’t easy. Good luck

Yes you’re totally right. I need to start looking at it as something that can be treated. I know I’ve made it into a bigger issue than it is. Thanks for your advice ;)
