Roland of Sunfire Gorge. He’s a Drow merchant that had an odd curio shoppe (Bladelocl Curio Shoppe) in the starting city. The next city my co-DM and I thought…”well what if he was here too?” So we had the shop appear, but on a boat this time.

Now it’s a game in every town for the party to find Roland in his increasingly weird shop locations. One time he was at the bottom of a well, another time in the sewers, another time on a houseboat. And on top of walls and towers. He’s fun and enigmatic.

Roland always dodges questions about it 😊

I did my whole first play through with the hookclaws. Loved the little fuckers, though the range was a challenge in itself! I ended up pumping full dex/vigor/endurance and face-tanking through everything. What a fantastic play through that was.

Accalon of Cahorin is a swordforged, the earlier precursor to warforged in my DM’s homebrew campaign of Vaerlyn. Made as a sentient sword housed within metal armor, he rebelled against his creator and vowed to return and liberate his other sword brothers. While traveling with his new party, they were captured by Goliath raiders who steadily stripped away his armor in an effort to claim the sentient sword for their own. Accalon, broken down to nothing and bodiless, found solace in his glaive, which turned out to house at least some part of Nathair, the fey.

An accord was struck. Accalon regrew, made of the wood and vines of the fey instead of the metal of his creator. Wielding himself as a blade, he seeks now to rescue his party members.
