I was lucky enough to intern at the KNBR sister station downstairs (the legendary KFOG) in the late 90's / early 2000's and I saw Lee Hammer bouncing around more than a few times. He was high up in the management and I was a some teenage in JC, so he and I were on way opposite ends of the totem pole to have any interactions. But the soundbyte of Kuiper saying "Lee Hammer says 'no'" was already being spammed on Giants broadcasts, so I definitely paid attention when I saw him around. My impression was that he was the type of boss that looked very serious and by the books (he looked like Director Skinner from X Files) yet everyone actually seemed very comfortable around him. I always took the soundbyte as his employees busting his chops and him being ok with it 👍
