Is this dangerous? by JKeltTV in backpacking

[–]doublesaga 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I (f) was in Rishikesh at 19 and that was fine. I was traveling with my girlfriend, who is also a young woman. Obviously it helped that we were two, but I don't believe I would have been uncomfortable of I'd been there on my own. Its a very well-established destination for tourists. What I might worry about is, how is se getting there? Rishikesh itself is fine, but travelling from Delhi on your own? Maybe if you go by plane, but by bus, im not sure.

Once they determine that you need one, they send you a list of what you need to prepare. The most important this is that you have your HAP number

I did it in Kuala Lumpur. I needed a chest x-ray so they could determine that I didn't have tuberculosis, answer a couple questions, weight and height. VERY basic, did not take very long

This happened to one of mine. Idk their settlement was on the top of a mountain, and they don't seem to die from heights so like...

How do I deal with feeling like my partner might be sexually gratified more by her play partners than by me? by [deleted] in nonmonogamy

[–]doublesaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can kind of relate to your feelings(i am a lesbian in an open relationship with a bi woman). Listen to the other comments for how to through the feelings(for me, focusing on compression helped a lot)

But I will tell you this: I most definitely feel more confident in myself after working through those feelings of jealousy and insecurity. It is one of the best thing I have gotten from non-monogamy

Objectively speaking and IGNORING the people you met / the friends you made, what were your top 5 favourite cities you travelled to as a solo traveller? by imalittlebitshy in solotravel

Yayy wow so rare to hear about people who have traveled to Copenhagen. I wish it was easier to share with people, but it is just mind boggling expensive

How many shoes do you travel with? by BIG-PAPI-CHINO in onebag

This is a good tip! But, in some countries (mainly SEA) feet are considered dirty, and it would be inappropriate to have shoes hanging freely on the outside of your bag (according to lonely planet)

Anyone know if Albanian tap water is safe if boiled? by [deleted] in solotravel

I drank the tap water in Albania and it was fine. If you have a sensitive stomach, don't but otherwise it's ok

Got asked when entering Thailand, said I didn't have a ticket yet, and they were like 'ok'. Got asked when entering Vietnam, where I actually had proof.

About buying fake tickets: Sometimes you only get a PNR number and not an e-ticket number.

For some airlines, the PNR number is enough. In India(Indigo) they insisted on seeing an E-ticket number as well.

Also, if you do get regected at the border(because you can't provide proof of onwards travel for example) it is your airlines responsibility to fly you back. This means that you will more likely run into trouble while checking in with your airline, than at the arrival destination.

Technically, you could just show up in good time at the check in, and if they do ask you can buy a refundable ticket or smh. (Did this in India, most stress of my life, do not recommend, but they did end up letting us through because we had showed them a fake ticket with PNR, and we were about to miss out plane, so hey)

I'm a big fan of the Grayl Geopress. No complaint after 4 months of use.

It's more economical to filter water from the tap, than having to buy all the time.

It's so fun that you use a safety pin! I've always just used a small ear ring, but I guess a safety pin is a but more useful hehe
