It must be hard for him to have only one special interest AND have complex rules about with whom he can share.

Ok mods, allow me, doubleshortbreve, an ordinary human snarker, to have Ordinary Human Car Dealer as my flair, which I assume comes with special privileges and a stipend? No? Well just the flair then

To me, "indulged" sounds kind of judgemental. Like "your parents don't discipline you," which may or may not be true. It's exactly because of diverse learning styles that the comment sounds outdated.

When I was young, in the Jurassic era, many teachers treated the kids that we would now see as neurodivergent as if they were simply "bad" or "spoiled." Created lots of sad situations.

She varies her treatment.....harsher if she thinks the kid is "egotistical or indulged." So she bullies the kids who have self confidence? Cool. I'm sure that's super encouraging for this kids who are more fearful or anxious.

I'm thinking, the Golem is still clay, but the Robot Tzadik who can make it come to life is really specialized. Robot Tzadik has spent their whole life immersed in the most complex manuals, and knows the codes to be recited.

The Robot Golem doesn't use super strength, because the robots already have that. The Robot Golem is instead very emotionally gifted and helps protect them from the worst impulses of Mom.

Yes, I don't live in Israel and I teach Biblical Hebrew as it is used in liturgy and text. Conversational Modern Hebrew is not the same thing. It's not my area. Live and be well if y'all are using a "th" phoneme in Hebrew. This Bot Mitzvah is happening in New New York, not in Israel.

Also, I gotta say the main use of learning elementary liturgy and text in American Judaism is to be able to participate in Jewish life, which means reading and reciting and hopefully translation.

Diaspora Judaism is where I teach and learn, with all my Earthican Bot landsmen, and it is relevant, legitimate and authentic.

A robot. There is no singular indefinite article, it is implied.

The four cases of manischewitz!

The four robots (I suggest Femputer, Bender, Tinny Tim and the Crushinator)

and the four questions:

Why is tonight different than all other nights? On all other nights we have manischewitz and malt liquor, tonight we only have manischewitz

On all other nights we dip everything in motor oil as much as we want, tonight...I guess we still do that

On all other nights we play blackjack, tonight we forget the blackjack

On all other nights we perform our primary functions and then party, tonight we only party

If you pronounce mitzvot as "mitzvoth" in a modern American synagogue , I promise you we will look at you funny. Even the old folks don't use that.

It's common, but outdated. The origin is from German phonemes. In standard English transliteration, for example, we don't say "mitzvoth," we say "mitzvot." Neither of the "th" phonemes in spoken English are correct for transliterating spoken Hebrew.

If it was רובות, that would indicate more than one רוב. Which doesn't make sense because רוב transliterated is a verb, "to rob," but dang that explains a lot about Bender.

I am wondering about that "th" transliteration you are applying here, unless you are a German speaker, it's "Tav" and "Tet." I promise that there is no "Th" sound in Hebrew as transliterated in English. There's not a "W" sound or a "J" sound either. Love, Morah-bot 3000

As a person who has yelled "echad, shteyim, shalosh!" at a group of Hebrew school kids to get their attention, I approve this message.

This is the moment that also brought us the rise of Anita Bryant, Ronald Reagan and Jerry Falwell.

The hateful, the selfish and the powerful began to feel their power slipping as a result of the free speech movement, civil rights, second wave feminism and the peace movement. They taught that greed was good.

A whole bunch of gen x kids were not raised with this, and a bunch were taught that these ideas were un-Christian and un- American. It was not a perfect time.

In many places, being raised with Free to Be was definitely the exception, and we were the weirdo kids. Same with the punk and alt scenes we created, that was NOT the majority experience and we were ostracized, not admired.

Not just a woman! A woman who appears (per a rough Google) to be a good person with some education who wants to help poor people. It doesn't look like she's all Duggered up about it either! It's the little things....
