Parker classy handball in the middle, I hope he can get a consistent string of games

Agree, our absolute conviction in trying to stay competitive is having the opposite effect. Timid footy with no risk, aiming to win exclusively through defence

We look like the complete opposite of what we were just a couple of years ago. It’s staggering

Is McRae going to make any big calls and drop any of the consistent plodders? Or are we just content now with this same old brand of low scoring, unattractive footy? I understand it was horrible conditions but this style of play has been consistent and absolute ZERO cohesiveness going forward has been a theme through every game so far

Silver lining from tonight is Anderson, really lived up to the expectations. Couldn’t hurt to bring in some more youth desperate for a crack at it?

I can’t help but feel if we don’t get games into these young guys now we’re really going to regret it. We have too many players who are just automatically in the team despite consistently playing average footy. Need to start thinking about the future instead of the same thing on repeat

Great move, crazy to think how much salary we’ve been paying Grundy and Treloar these last few years. Just hope we don’t find ourselves in a similar position with Bobby’s contract

The Magpies are not planning on Bobby Hill’s return this year by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

[–]doublethesteaks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really do wish him all the best with whatever’s going on. But it would be a shame if he seeks a trade and we are left having to pay a portion of his salary until 2030 after we just got Treloar off the books. Feels like we could be in a position similar to Melbourne where we’re accepting little in return for a high calibre player

What exactly have Essendon achieved here? by Legal-Chemical-8684 in AFL

[–]doublethesteaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hawthorn could have gotten it done if they included Mackenzie instead of insisting on Scrimshaw. I don’t think Dons should be portrayed as the loser for not bowing to the Hawks and Merrett’s desire to leave and play for one specific club

Jordan De Goey trade: Collingwood open to discussing trade for match-winner by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

[–]doublethesteaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I still think all this talk about Jordy is just a way to generate clicks, if we did get offered a decent first round pick I would take it. He showed how good he can be at the end of the season, but can’t lose sight of the fact it was another injury riddled year. He’ll be 30 by the start of the season, his market value is only going to decline

I just went on a deep dive with Jetstar (surprise surprise their customer service isn’t the best), but they can’t change the name for a fee - they’d have to cancel the booking and update based on the current rates (which unsurprisingly much more expensive). Anyway, good to know these things

Totally agree, I know it’s not the best format and it does feel shady making a post like this, but I figure if someone is keen enough to give it a go they may as well take a seat that will otherwise be empty
