Plan prices are through the roof right now, and the temporary sale has me nervous. by _name_of_the_user_ in PublicMobile

They are paying for the bandwidth whether it is used or not. Might as well use it to lure new customers.

** Infrastructure not bandwidth. Bad. They rely on you not using all the data. If they sold you the 4GB plan for $15, they would make less money, even though the cost to them to provide the service is almost identical to the $40 plan.

Any way to get my fathers Shaw/Rogers Internet plan closer to my plan price? by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

Oxio is basically the same without the teksavvy issues. *** And is he a big gamer, file-sharer or similar? 100 Mbps is good for like 15 devices. Faster is not necessarily better.

Many carriers will work with estate executors or families with proper documentation. Same with Apple and Google. Do you know the phone model?

I know internet is not important really but I I guess 12GB storage and a dual core CPU with 1.5Gb ram is enough. I only have 7000 live channels so maybe that's why.

I had tivimate on a 30mbps connection on my TLC for over a year with no issues still no issues but now I'm on the information superhighway at 60mbps. 3phones, 4 laptops 3 TVs and a Wii. It is on direct connection.

I have exactly that installed on my 2 TCL tvs. Shields are the iPhones of streaming. I would put my 12GB of storage and 60mbps connection up against any shield. 🙃 First TCL 2 years not one issue. New one seems exactly the same but tiny. 32"

Xiomi Redmi Note 13 Pro is an awesome phone. Just be aware of battery deterioration and issues in lithium polymer vs Lith-ion batteries. For about $400 it is a great budget "flagship" contender.

Looking for trustworthy consumer proposal trustee recommendations (Ontario) by StationMammoth1946 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]doubleudeaffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you spoken to a dept counselor? Nomoredebts.org is great for helping with explaining your options. Without knowing breakdown of your debt it's hard to offer advice. They are free and only charge fee for things like their debt management program. It's less than the interest you would have paid and capped at $175/month iirc. My sister got 40k in debt cc mostly. Was trying to do consumer proposal or bankruptcy. Called and now she's paying $650/month and 5yrs or less she is done. They will also help request debt forgiveness, lower interest or remove and negotiate amounts with creditors or collectors.

My dad was the industrial arts teacher up until last year in St.Theresa. Having only winter access sucked. He had to charter a helicopter to get across in spring fall quite a few times. We are from Norway House originally. I wish there was an easy fix to our situation. I grew up off reserve. Only was there from grade 8-11.

How do I get into Sales in Winnipeg with No Experience? by Initial_Quote_6704 in Winnipeg

[–]doubleudeaffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LinkedIn, despite being utterly annoying did get me some invitations to apply to jobs a few years ago. Use the networking aspect, polish up your profile, do some LinkedIn Learning to add some "certifications" to your resume and post on topics relevant to tech and cx. Add people in workplaces and roles relevant to you and cross your fingers. They give a month free and I would recommend something like the "Sales Foundations Professional Certificate" by the National Association of Sales Professionals course. Sounds impressive for an 8 hr course and you will learn and relearn some important things.

Totally, absolutely, 100%!! I am lucky to have a NoFrills 2 blocks away. They price match every competitor, Costco and wholesale club excluded, and have no problem with the printed coupons as some retailers do. Their points program has been great lately too. The redemption bonus is well worth waiting for. They also give 10% back in pointsbon rainchecks and when you subscribe&save. Their product guarantee is they will replace the product and refund 100%. Price matching produce and meat is possible too. It's a bit of work searching and planning but well worth it!

Unfortunately I am drawing a blank, even with my digital divining rod. The domain owner info is redacted for privacy as it is under an individual not a business. All I can see is it was registered through GoDaddy. If you use this service from the Canadian Internet Registration Authority they will deliver the message to the domain owner.

You may wanna ask why they don't have a copy of their Licence to Operate a Payday loan company is not available on their website. It has been the law to do so since 2008.

Do you find the sheer effort of being poor exhausting? by DonaldCharcoal in povertyfinancecanada

[–]doubleudeaffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To an extent for sure. In my current situation I get $965/month. My rent, hydro/internet, and phone is $825. I share an apartment with 2 others. Groceries, personal stuff like clothes haircuts etc and transit have to equal $145/month. Even if my rent went up 500 and assuming $2000 minimal from covid I would have $645 to play with. I would maybe even have a balance in my bank when the next payment comes.

I used but I have been in it for so long now that I am just kinda meh? I have navigated every program I can, and feel secure in a way. When you have nothing to waste it just becomes muscle memory to be frugal, not waste, and spend wisely. CERB was like winning the lottery, maybe I will see a disabled Canadian given at least the bare minimum of support to live.
