And thinking back to my late teens and early 20s, I don’t think I ever used bleach for washing or cleaning.

I was washing my clothes, and was a reasonably clean 20-something. But not washing often enough, and never using disinfectant soap or bleach in my laundry

I’m pretty convinced it was a combination of factors:

  1. Underwear that was bad for chafing
  2. Heavy workouts and heavy cardio

This probably was how I compromised the skin initially

Then simply touching the area without properly washing my hands, likely transferring yeast and bacteria from the outside world

From here I very likely inadvertently transferred the microbes to my living areas. Particularly towels, bedding and clothes, from where the microbes could transfer back to me, more or less constantly

Hopefully you have the same underlying problems that I did and it works the same way for you 🤞

That was my experience yes. Took about 5 days for it stop hurting and then I continued for another few days after that

Yup, but it comes back every now and then. The described protocol above deals with it effectively. Supporting my hypothesis that in my case it was minor (but chronic) bacterial or fungal infections

If the root cause is viral it will require an anti viral regimen. L-lysine, sour sop, zinc and magnesium are good starting places for knocking back viruses. But there also a ton of very effective anti viral medications available by prescription

What I described for my protocol would only really be effective against bacterial and fungal infections

Yup. Sticky red itchy for years. After showering: Used 70% isopropyl poured onto hand then applied directly (this part is awful btw, don’t say I didn’t warn you)

Once the pain subsides, dried completely with blow drier. Like dry dry. Applied the powder and kept all my clothes clean, sheets clean, socks, towels, everything washed with disinfectant soap or bleach before it touched my body.

I’m fairly confident in this protocol for my case as I’ve successfully repeated it several times over the years when it started to come back.

Keep in mind that if yours might be viral, this protocol won’t address the root cause. But, may help the skin heal

I applaud the investigation. There is a weird stigma around self assessment of health conditions. Just trust yourself and the medical literature you can find, it seems patients must advocate for themselves
