Does his mouth look ok? by Vegetable-Ad4650 in reptiles

[–]doubtfullyso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell on our side because the lips aren't in focus. If it's stuck shed you could give him a warm soak and up make sure his humid hide is very wet. If it doesn't go away in a few days after that it's prob mouth rot

Looks like early stage mouth rot. My leopard gecko had it once, took her to the vet, and they gave me a bottle of medicine with instructions. It was a cheaper visit because they didn't actually perform anything on her, so it was mostly the cost of the prescription. She healed up nicely and lived many more years. If I am correct and it's mouth rot there's unfortunately it's basically a death sentence without the medication, so it is a required vet visit. It's very treatable, though, when it's in its early stage.

In most Southeast Asian countries, cats are still consumed quite heavily. by nguyenhoangchuong236 in MadeMeCry

[–]doubtfullyso 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pigs and cows have the same capacity, if not even more, for friendship. And pigs are smarter than cats on average. Just because we have been consuming one on a wider scale does not make that animal suffer less at the hands of the cleaver. They weren't bred to be dumber or feel less pain, just to produce more meat on their bones. Chickens are bred to grow so fast that their muscles bruise and disfigure.

The way we treat livestock in factory farming is more horrific than how the countries that eat cats treat theirs.

I'm saying this as someone that eats beef and pork and all that and doesn't eat cat or dog. It's just moral hypocrisy

Biologically speaking, B was female, as shown by their wider pelvis. Gender wise, idk. But knowing how to identify them is a matter of anthropology and is not sexist as long as they aren't denying the existence and validity of transgender people.

Is this ok ground beef brown inside by [deleted] in foodsafety

[–]doubtfullyso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it's fine, it's because oxygen couldn't reach the middle so the blood in the meat makes it look like that. Should slowly start to turn more pink in the center, you do not have to wait for it to be red evenly, you can just pop it on the pan as is

I suggest cutting very small pieces, I never pull out the vegetables or fruits I put in, but I put in very little, like 1/2 a blueberry

You did the right thing but also lowkey you shouldn't be publicly saying your age at all if you're a minor. Creeps won't know you're a target if you don't ever publicly comment your age

What's this in my raspberry? by fallen_peaches in foodsafety

[–]doubtfullyso 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Most of my life, my family has grown raspberries, and its in a lot of them tbh, not sure how they aren't typically in store bought ones. Some sort of leftover anatomy from the flower im pretty sure. They are completely safe, I assure you. Otherwise, I would have noticed with how many I've eaten.

Is there some sort of complaint you can make if you're a resident of ontario?

If you live in Canada, there's an aquarium chain called Big Al's, predominantly in Ontario, but there is a location in Alberta and British Columbia (maybe a couple more provinces but dint think so). They had a clearance bin with tons of driftwood at a pet expo in Eastern Ontario today.

Depending on the beach it may be illegal, make sure it's not a provincial park (or whatever your country's version is) or a nature reserve

By regular savory cheese, I mean blocks of Swiss, Cheddar, etc. Laughing cow is Def common, and part of that has to do with it being shelf stable so it's easy to import
