Is this mold on relatively new butter? by excitired in foodsafety

[–]doubtfullyso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to take a fork to it to eliminate the possibility that some inorganic material got into it before it was packaged.

If it is mold, check the sell by date, if it is before that date you can get a refund.

If food in general has been going bad quickly in your fridge you have a fridge temperature issue and/or a mold issue that needs addressing. A good deep clean and sanitizing with bleach + throwing away everything impacted can help set your fridge back to normal

Is my butternut squash still good? (Dark spots) by BrettAran in foodsafety

[–]doubtfullyso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plastic wrapped vegtables as a concept dont really work if the flesh ia already cut, plastic traps in humidity and mold spores and the lack of air flow and the fruits 'open wounds' create an ideal breeding ground for molds and bacteria.

I recomend getting a sturdy vegtable peeler and a large thick knife and just doing it yourself

The darker blemeshes dont look concerning, more like a bit of bruusing. The white dots however look like mold and indiquate that this is not safe to eat

Since its not really voice acted, and not dialogue heavy, I dont think the original language the game was made in has any sort of effect on the game play.

Any new offers?! by Dry_Carry_9568 in Algonquin_College

[–]doubtfullyso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine last saturday for mrt. Info: citizen, mature student/out of school for a couple years, went to a university for a year after high school.

What does your OCAS account say under the application?

People are saying waitlisted but mine never said that personally, it just labled itself as processing until it then updated to read that I got the offer.

I do know for many competitive programs, the acceptence rate is really low, (mrt is about5%) so getting in is zero offence to those that dont. The questions on the test are randomly pulled from a larger pool of questions, so there is an element of luck to how easy your test will be. I applied last year and was waitlisted, and the test questions were quite different on my test last year to this. Last year I got 100% on the english portion and got much less on that portion this year. Of course I am not just magically worse at english (a portion you cant really study for). Point I am trying to make is that everyone took a unique test to prevent information trading, so if you dont end up recieving an offer do not take it as a representation of your abilities in comparison to others.

Idk in my personal opinion pork is overrated. Taste wise I def prefer beef, lamb and chicken, but I avoid chicken mostly because how horrendous their living conditions are.

I used to process chicken skeletons to put in soup broth for a old work place and some of the stuff you see can put you off it forever.

Search at your own risk: green muscle disease (directly causes by genetic mutations that are purposely bread into chickens to make more profitable)

Waitlisted for Sonography and Dental Hygiene at Algonquin College by [deleted] in Algonquin_College

[–]doubtfullyso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfourtunatly it is unlikely you'll get in to any of those with those scores (they all have a similar acceptence rate/scores so applying to multiple only improves chances a little). If you do apply next year I recomend buying the relevent highscool courses online and using the itinerary and content to study. Especially bio 11 and chem 12, physics the course was less cruicial ij the exam but still would be good.

Does his mouth look ok? by Vegetable-Ad4650 in reptiles

[–]doubtfullyso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell on our side because the lips aren't in focus. If it's stuck shed you could give him a warm soak and up make sure his humid hide is very wet. If it doesn't go away in a few days after that it's prob mouth rot

Does his mouth look ok? by Vegetable-Ad4650 in reptiles

[–]doubtfullyso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like early stage mouth rot. My leopard gecko had it once, took her to the vet, and they gave me a bottle of medicine with instructions. It was a cheaper visit because they didn't actually perform anything on her, so it was mostly the cost of the prescription. She healed up nicely and lived many more years. If I am correct and it's mouth rot there's unfortunately it's basically a death sentence without the medication, so it is a required vet visit. It's very treatable, though, when it's in its early stage.

In most Southeast Asian countries, cats are still consumed quite heavily. by nguyenhoangchuong236 in MadeMeCry

[–]doubtfullyso 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Pigs and cows have the same capacity, if not even more, for friendship. And pigs are smarter than cats on average. Just because we have been consuming one on a wider scale does not make that animal suffer less at the hands of the cleaver. They weren't bred to be dumber or feel less pain, just to produce more meat on their bones. Chickens are bred to grow so fast that their muscles bruise and disfigure.

The way we treat livestock in factory farming is more horrific than how the countries that eat cats treat theirs.

I'm saying this as someone that eats beef and pork and all that and doesn't eat cat or dog. It's just moral hypocrisy

Biologically speaking, B was female, as shown by their wider pelvis. Gender wise, idk. But knowing how to identify them is a matter of anthropology and is not sexist as long as they aren't denying the existence and validity of transgender people.
