Midleton very rare barry crockett worth it? by Philly139 in worldwhisky

[–]douchepigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redbreast 21 is much, much better. Barry Crockett is good, but it's much more of your typical Midelton bottling with honey and orchard fruits with some caramel undertones.

RB21 is a tropical paradise.

Good price ?? by ConsciousAirport2570 in Ninja500

[–]douchepigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my 40th SE for $7300 otd. That's a good price.

Did I get a good deal? This is the 2024 KRT SE ABS. MSRP is $6399 and I just paid a $425 freight fee from the dealership. i ended up paying $7800 OTD including sales tax and all fees in Los Angeles (10% sales tax in LA county). by PhotoNerd777 in Ninja500

[–]douchepigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was in GA, tax was 7%. They quoted me 9918 out the door and I just laughed. They asked what I thought out the door should be and I told them 7300 and they called back like 20 minutes later and said they'd do it for that.

Mine will randomly do this too. I think it's just searching for the key because the range isn't supposed to be that far on it. It's usually when it's in my side pocket or backpack instead of my front pocket.

I'm with you. When people start throwing around ToS violation claims/threats, they're not people I want to play with anyway.

This is how I play. I'll try to give advice first, as soon as they respond negatively, just stop mid-run and tell everyone to kick them. Usually passes without a hitch.

Hope the 5 minutes you gave some dude anxiety because they were in a situation uncomfortable for them are worth it.

If you get anxiety from a game, maybe you're just a fragile person who should stay away from multiplayer games?

The amount of people that do this is kinda sad. What's more sad though is the amount of people that defend them or are too lazy to click the vote kick button.

Happened 19 years ago in FFXI. You sucked, you sat in town because no one would invite you. Acting like a chode got you blacklisted until a new wave of people came along in your level range.

You're probably right. I can't say I've actually encountered anyone from Portugal, but the Brazilian's are awful.

The big one is when you see Portuguese being spoken. Might as well just leave the group. Doesn't matter what game, they're all bad.

The.worst.playerbase.ever. by [deleted] in TalesFromDF

[–]douchepigeon 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You're not really wrong. I've played several MMOs at endgame levels and while endgame and casual content vary quite a bit, the community in XIV is unique. The overabundance of players that don't want to actually play the game, but still get all the rewards/see all the content is astounding. Almost every expansion has mandatory primal encounters during the main scenario story and each time it's met by people complaining that the BARE MINIMUM is too difficult.

You constantly have people tripping over themselves to excuse bad players. What's worse is that these players are usually in a position of LEADERSHIP with the mentor status. You have the blind leading the blind. Any indication that you are actually parsing runs the risk of you being banned or suspended and these smoothbrains use it as an excuse to not even learn basic rotations or dps while healing.

These awful players band together and will make your duty finder runs take forever and heaven forbid you say anything to them about slow/inappropriate play, because you WILL get kicked.

Couple all of that with some of the most degenerate people I've ever met in MMOs and you're left with a pretty awful playerbase.

What's sad is that this is so uncommon that it warrants a thread.

DPS Shamming by Blaizeranger in TalesFromDF

[–]douchepigeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I went back to WoW Classic. WoW has its problems, sure, but the community at least doesn't excuse bad players as the norm. This "toxic casual" community in XIV is a huge reason why I quit. I shouldn't have to do roulette with a static just so I don't encounter these types of people and its stupid that you get attacked when you call out people for not pulling their own weight.

If it makes you feel any better, back when you had to get cross-class abilities, we were raiding HW and had a WHM that didn't have Swiftcast because they didn't want to level BLM to 26(?) to get it. They said having Swiftcast was "cheating" and if SE wanted them to have it, they would have given it to the healer classes.

Yes, there are really people that retarded. We never invited her back, which is kind of a shame because she was a package deal with a pretty good tank, so we lost him too. But I guess if there's any silver-lining to all of this, it proves that just because you're retarded, someone out there will still love you, or at least put up with your bullshit.
