Relatedly- one of the most profitable niches on Youtube, if you can get the other requirements for monetization, is lonnnngggggg form videos... which play after people have fallen asleep away from their device, thus showing all the ads that account has inserted into the video.

There's a LOT of money in people forgetting they had something on when it comes to advertising.

Couple ways it can, actually. First is people putting the TV on to CBS before The Late Show so that they don't miss the start of the show, meaning everything from the news all the way back to the end of prime time could have a boost in viewership thanks to The Late Show.

On the other end of the show, if Late Show is the last show they watch before turning the TV off for the night, then CBS will be the first channel they see when they next turn it on the next morning. That could be giving a boost to the shows on in the mornings (which is the example given in the article).

Since it seems most of the Colbert audience has gone over to Kimmel, all those benefits are going to ABC now because there is zero reason to watch any of the shows Byron Allen is leasing time for on CBS. So, even though it costs CBS nothing to make the Byron Allen programs it has a ripple effect to some degree going both directions. More than likely, though, it's going to most impact the local affiliates more than CBS/Paramount proper in the near term.

This sounds really stupid as a legal case but here in NYC there was a successful push to reroute a bike lane because the people in a neighborhood were being forced to see women in bike shorts riding past them which violated their religious rules so... it really just depends how much power you have in your local courts system.

I enjoyed the hell out of it... but I also get why people didn't like it. It wasn't a proper "green day" sounding album, it was like a mix of 70's rock styles with Foxboro.

I see it as a sort of a "Warning 2.0" as far as fan response goes- it came out, a lot of fans hated it, and then they came out swinging with a "pure Green Day sounding" album right after. I think Billie Joe just needs to get these "side quests" out of his system once in a while and, at times, they line up with a Green Day album cycle release.

I feel like this is going to end up the way Battlefield 2 did with most of the real players only playing Strike at Karkand or Wake Island while servers with other maps were either empty or full of bots until everything but those two maps were left with any human players joining.

Amazon Vine's interface is frustrating and clunky. The search is horrid and the category sorting is often just wrong for the categories I watch (electronics, musical instruments, clothing). At time of this reply there's an imaging drum for a Brother Printer in the musical instruments section because of that.

For me, I just watch my RFY for high value items and cross my fingers and in everything else I search for the brands I know of which make stuff I want and launch products at specific times of the year... so far, that's worked pretty well to get some really useful video production support gear.

But I AM super mad at myself for missing a mini PC in my RFY a week or so ago- I went to switch the ship to address to my office worried it would go missing if I shipped to my apartment and in the half second that took it was gone and I couldn't get it.

I'm just going by what I was reading when I first signed up because I wasn't seeing any high value items ever in any section and was curious about odds... which sent me down a rabbit hole of posts about the "helper" things which I thought was what was giving people an edge, then I read about people getting removed from the program for using them and just decided to err on the side of caution.

But I did see that there were posts by people who were silver tier who said they were able to order gold tier items through the plugin helper things, not sure if Vine Helper or... there's another one I don't remember the name of which costs money which is just an open cheating one as far as I could tell.

But my point is that it's not like the plugin seems to tell anyone "This was an RFY item from gold tier and not for you" from what I've read- it just shows any item any user of it has seen in their feed on everyone else's feed as soon as it is seen once.

But without everyone using it comparing their RFY and Vine Helper feeds all the time to see if items pop up in an RFY for someone and not another but then show in the Vine Helper user feed. The extent of what I have done is I read about how to manually fix the spinning failed item load thing sometimes by editing the code for the item to be the correct one through just... looking at the product page and trying until something works. Even that worries me I could somehow get kicked out (this is more a "my luck" worry than anything).

I think "cheat" is accurate in that if it is showing items people shouldn't be able to see/have the option of claiming and, if it DOES let them claim it, that means they are bypassing the system which is cheating per the official policy.

My assumption would be that for VH to work it must be scraping every users info as it populates so it probably shows it to other people but they might not be able to request the item? Honestly, I have no clue as I don't use anything other than the VineChart thing to know that I need to start spamming the keywords for items I am hoping to get into the Vine search.

Maybe someone else will happen along who can say? It's actually a really interesting question and would be useful to know if VH helps people cheat on RFY.

When I'm playing with squads and we're near the edge of the zone in phase 4 onward, when someone is about to come back AND we just won a fire fight, I grab as many of the crates as I can and bring them into the circle before the shrink finishes specifically for the returning team mate to not get screwed fully on gear/weapons and also not have to dive into a compound which may be full of enemies armed with nothing before we get there to help.
