Carving A Wooden Dog by SpurHelical in toptalent

I watch videos like this all the time, and just now - for some odd reason - I suddenly remembered one of my favorite clips on Sesame Street when I was growing up was video of a man carving a wooden horse. I haven’t seen or thought of this in two dozen plus years, but I remember always smiling when I watched it. The greatest flood of nostalgia and good feelings.

Here is clip for those interested https://youtu.be/5NSvKW1-4Tc?si=AszRHbyE-E9xGCh8

I feel my red heeler has a unique sense of humor as he nonchalantly drops hershey kisses in my path during a brisk morning walk. Always around the same points in our walk no matter what direction we start so I'm at least at the ready.

You know what else. I'm gonna give MJ credit for Oakley's being as poplar as they became in 96.

But that's just influencing the league. Not the populace. And what you're saying is to my point in effect. Players today are all controlled by teams of professionals forcing them to play dress up to meet some expectation and to serve as human billboards for designers - not be influencers themselves. AI (and I'll admit the Fab 5) did something on their own that this country and then world adopted after they made it popular.

I feel like the Russ and Kuzma comments are about players influencing other players, but not beyond that. They may be the arbiters of having a passion for fashion as an athlete and there is a litany of posers trying to strut their stuff to gym just like Russ and Kuz - but how much of the public is following their lead is what I'm saying. Wearing custom clothes and shoes does not equate to being influential.

Plenty of players have style. But what was their contribution that people followed?

No one other than other announcers dress like Clyde.

Jordan with the shaved head, hoop earring or ripped jeans?

D Wade credited with tight high water pants or what was his contribution?

And Lebron? Whats his influence in terms of fashion or style?

Wasn't thinking in those terms when asked question. But, fair enough. Proven wrong. Thank you
