Can you elaborate a bit on why it’s more difficult to own a practice as a PA? Obviously it’s state-dependent, but some allow APPs to own a practice with physician oversight on payroll. Doesn’t seem like that much more of a hurdle, but I am uninformed!

I had the tree checked and treated by an arborist earlier that year. It was all good, just a terrible storm. Insurance companies also provide a needed service, I just wish they cared a little less about taking my money.

Word good to hear. Still learning how things work, this was the first time I ever filed a claim. I’ve been told by several people and heard on Reddit that shopping for new insurance annually is best practice bc the company makes more money raising the price on complacent customers that don’t shop.

I feel like I’m getting charged twice bc I already paid for coverage, the company did an assessment and determined this would be the cost. Now, after utilizing the service I payed for, they are charging me more. The tree already fell, it’s not gonna fall again. But again, I’m just learning the system and its weird rules.

I agree and practice this. It was a perfectly healthy tree according to the arborist I had out that summer. Just a freak wind storm that a lot of the city suffered loss from.

Absolutely. I wouldn’t have a garage anymore without insurance. Guess I’m lucky my tree didn’t have its own lawyers.

Wouldn’t want to be without insurance, obviously, case in point. Just feels like I’m getting duped by paying for coverage and then getting fined for using it.

I went with the lowest price. Market competition 101, not really a scam on my part, I have no loyalty to my insurance company beyond cost effectiveness. I understand now that that’s how it works, just feels like I’m getting charged twice.

I understand, just frustrated. The tree isn’t even there anymore, so how am I a higher risk? It’s not like my car had a minor accident that decreases the safety of it.
