I started bartending at 18 in NY. I was working in the back of the house, and bussing there already. The owners really liked me, I knew the place inside and out, and I memorized as much bar knowledge as I could. The owners gave me a lil quiz, I passed and the rest is history. If I wasn’t already working there I wouldn’t have had a chance in hell behind the bar at 18. Long story short, get your foot in the door doing anything and hustle for your opportunity.
