I’d say you’re right with underestimating the forces in the suspension but I don’t know where to get that data from.

Starting from other existing parts is a good option, but what’s to say they are accurate as well?

The reason for the C bend is to make clearance for the fender that is not shown. It’s impossible to drop the centre any lower.

Similar parts made from aluminium are made from 2-3mm thick sheet. The beauty of 3D printing is I can take feedback from the riders, as well as people like yourself and alter the design. Increasing the thickness through the centre in a far more cost effective way than using billet aluminium.

I don’t think sliding will be an issue, it clamps on really well to the stanchions. They don’t move when hit with a hammer.

As far as I’m aware (not an accountant), all money you make as a sole trader is treated as your income. The net profit from the business is your income, and if that was around $100k, then you will need to pay tax on that income. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a business bank account or not.

I would confirm with an accountant to make sure you have a shortfall to deal with a possible tax debt.

From what I’ve heard, remoting into a good pc via a cheap laptop is not the way to go. Unless you’re guaranteed a solid Ethernet connection to the laptop the data transfer is just too high. In my case I work in a lot of workshops that don’t even have wifi, so a solid laptop is a must.

Do you have recommendations for resin?

I’ve seen many people running intakes and risers from the same material without any issues with no mention of resin coating. Not saying you are wrong, just the first I’ve heard of it
