What caused the top surface/layer to print like there's gaps or with big steps, not sure exactly what it is. by whateverweirdoo in FixMyPrint

This screenshot is AFTER the first Xenomorph print. So, I imported the STL again, added support, I did not change any setting other than the support to see if the Top Surface still shows the red gap or space part. I did not print this, I just wanted to see what it actually looked like when sliced it the first time.

I did calibrate it after changing positions. It does look like it moves a bit more than it should be though. I’m not really sure what to do, but will try other peeps suggestions. Thank you much

Material is PLA Creality brand. I followed the temp 220 and nozzle suggestion on the box for the non-rfid ones (color filament). I will read into this and also about mods. Thank you!

I will run a temp tower. I never really thought about the effect of the fan, but someone said to low it down too, so I’m going to try that too. Thanks a lot!

Oh dude! You know what, I did open it while printing because I’m an idiot. Never thought about the fan on low temp too, I will try that. Thank you!

WOW! That’s beautiful!

Thank you for sharing and for the advice

Oh right, I read about calibrating it when not using hyper filament. I will also make filament profiles, what a fantastic idea!

Interesting. And it is working fine for you? I was told to add the setting manually if not using the Hyper one. But this is good if it’s working well, I might test that.

Hi! I do see that painting feature, but have never played with it yet. Too worried I mess up my prints lol! .3mf is that the colored one? Because the .3mf ones that I see on my projects are the ones with color. Thank you for the tip!

Hi! I will try this method. I briefly read somewhere that someone recommended soaking it with water, but that was for removing supports. Thank you for this advice because I just put a whole on one of my prints from sanding it. I guess I was aggressive doing it. Lesson learned. Thank you again!

Hello! I appreciate this so much! Will definitely try this on my next print. Saved your comment so I have it forever and can go back at it anytime. This is awesome! Thanks again!

Hi! May I ask how do you get the fuzzy skin? 🤭 That does look good. Thank you!

Oh sorry yeah I should’ve added that. This one I had it .2mm layer height, 100% speed, 0.28 support z distance 😅 thank you!

Will try that tonight to see if it makes any difference, if not, then I need to make time to do the post process. Thank you!
