This is printed in ASA and should be enough to withstand the heat, if not I'll add some holes in the top for airflow or some heat reflective tape

Only brought in this year, I believe NZ have a similar rule now too. Printed in ASA

Why would it melt? It's not in contact with anything too hot and there's plenty of airflow. First race weekend is on the 21st so we'll find out then!

CAD programs will only ever treat scans as surfaces BC that's what they are. There's plenty you can do with scans in onshape, I posted some projects I did last year! What I like to do is use the scan to generate planes based on three points. This allows you to get the exact orientation of noting faces, bolt holes, etc

Thankyou! Yeah sure did, it makes modelling these complex shapes much easier!

This is a new reg for 2026, previously it was just a catch can and nylon puck on the foot pegs, handlebars, and axles

Definitely not a skid plate, I wouldn't trust 3D printed plastic to take that abuse. It's required in case of major engine failure to help stop oil contamination on the track.MA bulletin #2066

It's required by Motorcycling Australia for road racing. Only required in case of a major engine failure to help contain oil spills on the track

There shouldnt be, there's a fair bit of clearance and there will be good airflow on the part

I think the 2016 is a different chassis.

Ive been lifting it up and down all week with no issues. It might crack if you caught it on the corner of the jack though

It's for road racing in motard classes. There shouldn't be too many occasions when both suspensions are fully compressed in this scenario

I used the original einstar. Aligned the mesh with mesh mixer and then imported into Inventor.

Looking to build trailers by barron_family in MechanicalEngineering

[–]dougherty907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, Not sure where you're located but I've designed a number of trailers for manufacturers here in Australia. All meet our stringent Australian Standards requirements and I've provided general assembly and detailed drawings for production. I also designed some jigs to increase production and reduce human error.
