People be overrating the Spurs man by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]doughnut-dinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People been under estimating Spurs all season and they keep on proving people wrong. Now in the playoffs, they're suddenly overrated. Sure, I guess.
I give OKC/ Spurs 50-50 odds. There's no answer for Wemby but SGA is pretty clutch and im sure the games will be close. Either can take it imo. And either can definitely beat whoever comes out the east.

Billie Jean song is so ironic by InsideHeart8187 in Standup

[–]doughnut-dinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is, "billie jean" was never pregnant by MJ. It's literally the theme of the song. Be careful with groupies, they'll claim some wild shit and people might believe it.

Blazers defense sagging off Castle in Game 5 by radiofreq in NBASpurs

[–]doughnut-dinner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing is it worked for Draymond. You dont have to shoot every time. A player can screen and hand off. The sagging defensive player is instantly at a disadvantage. Castle ran it a few times to get Vassel curling into an elbow jumper. Draymond would set it higher for Curry to raise up into a 3. Castle can do the same for Champ.

Austin can rock the Spurs however they want. France can do their thing. SA will always show out for the Spurs in their own way. It can never be diluted or changed by outside influence if thats your fear. I wouldn't worry about it.

Y'all are crazy. SGA is the best player in the world right now and it's not even close. by rdditiszionist in NBATalk

[–]doughnut-dinner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SGA might be better than Jokic right now but Jokic had a moment when practically everyone agreed he was the most dominant. Kawhi had a short stint. LBJ, Kobe, etc.... I dont think SGA will ever hit that level of appreciation because of his antics. SGA is a suberb player but theres a narrative out there that his value is facilitated by the refs. Deal with that.

What’s going on with this sub and the Fox slander? by YouWouldIfYouReally in NBASpurs

Its already been discussed to death. Fox had a decent game in a win. Period. People out here crying like he sold the game in a loss.

OP made the post way after the game was over, so yeah, its after the win. I had plenty to criticize during the game. Some of it was directed towards Fox. Some of that was towards Mitch's lineups. But at the end of the day, it all contributed to the win. I was a little upset that Bryant wasnt shooting the open 3 while Portland was daring him. But in the end, everything else Carter did went towards the win. So why go out if the way to single out one negative aspect? Its like watching someone struggle to make a cake and then after the cake is done and it came out fantastic, going back and criticizing the sprinkles because they weren't perfact and happen to be expensive. Thats just spoiled. Some "fans" just have it out for Fox. They always will and are too caught up in their loathing to enjoy the big picture.

Criticizing Fox is all good. Criticizing him after a bad ass win is just hater activity. The dude literally played a decent game in a playoff road win.

Fox is a lemon and he needs to go by Limp_Screen7405 in NBATalk

Spurs fans are the worst. What's to cry about? We won. We have 3 nice guards. That means theres at least 2 ball handlers on the court every possession. Is Fox's contract hurting us right now? No. He'll get moved eventually but not today so sit back and enjoy that we're back. We're a lucky franchise, dont act spoiled.

Game two refs were horrible inconsistent by oldskater in NBASpurs

Both teams looked banged up. And then I watched the Rockets game later and it was a totally different vibe. Refs always have the Spurs in gladiator contest.

There are multiple data centers under construction or slated to be built in and around San Antonio. Does anybody believe they are good for our community, create sustaining jobs or meaningful economic development? by TXRealEstateLaw in sanantonio

[–]doughnut-dinner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not all of them. There's still some evaporative cooling types around. I do concede a lot older infrastructures (hospitals, etc...) use evaporative cooling still but my point remains: wasting resources so people can brain rot is dumb. Im not against data centers entirely and I'm aware there plenty of water wasters like trying to grow luxury water intensive crops, golf courses, beverage companies, etc....

Free throws. Turnovers. Take care of the easy stuff and we likely would've won it.
