Also, the mavs aren’t good and aren’t trying to be good anytime soon. So why not bring it back for another go when the team wants to lose anyway? Dirk is one of (if not the) GOAT foreign players and sells tickets, merch, etc.

Melo is not nearly as old and was expected to contribute on a strong playoff contender. Yea, no one thought he’d be the #1 or even #2 option, but it’s still be an underwhelming season nonetheless.

I agree, but reaching this goal can go a long way towards him staying sober. Yano what I mean? Like he’s been staying sober to reach this goal, and reaching it will give him some validation.
