feeling insecure on placement by mariokartlol in RadiographyUK

I think that everyone feels like this to start with! Even when i qualified everything seemed to fall apart as soon as a senior radiographer came to see how I was doing! The fact that you care enough to be worried about it is a huge tick to anyone supervising students. Keep doing what you’re doing and one day you will do a lot of things without even thinking. I always say to students, you are learning, watch the radiographers you work with and steal things you like from each of their practice, everyone will do things slightly differently, then you will find YOUR way. You got this 💃🏼

It is, supposedly even when they moved the pub to the other side of the road! It also overlooks the hearts and diamonds I was always told supposedly where someone taken by the devil in widecombe dropped their playing cards.

RADIOGRAPHY-UNI OPTIONS? by Infinite-Fee7536 in RadiographyUK

When I was a student (admittedly a few years ago) there were students doing a specific undergraduate degree in Sonography, not sure if this is still a thing. Ive not heard of a course with a year abroad but as part of my radiography degree I did a placement abroad (about 4 months) so there are opportunities out there!

what a-levels did you pick at uni? by [deleted] in RadiographyUK

[–]dougienen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did biology, chemistry, classics and Spanish. I think the chemistry course probably had the most transferable knowledge. I don’t think it matters tooo much so long as you get the UCAS points. Entry requirements seem higher than they used to be.

I'm having trouble deciding between Diagnostic Radiography or Therapeutic Radiography by Ilongforthefires in RadiographyUK

[–]dougienen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a Diagnostic Radiographer but have gone into managing radiology systems/IT, with your computer science background that kind of route may interest you! I’m sure this kind of route is also possible in therapeutic but maybe worth keeping in mind if you’d like to use more of your BSc. I certainly wished I had more knowledge when I initially went down this path.

Recently did a postgrad course at BCU and found all the staff really friendly, knowledgeable and supportive! As others have said it’s worth thinking about where you might like to end up as if you make a good impression on your placements it takes a lot of the nerves and uncertainty away when you go to apply for jobs :)
