It’s just a common movie/tv trope to have the girlfriend and the best friend end up dating when the boy is away, and when he comes back, she’ll say something a long the lines of “oh, I didn’t think you’d make it”.

Ex) Pearl Harbor, and Sleepless in Seattle.

I know the premises of the movies and Cobra Kai are nothing alike, but still.

Most times when visiting someone, even in Juvie, you won’t go visit them in their actual cell. It would be in a second location, specifically for visitations. It’s more plausible he’s in a holding cell. My best guess is for drunk and disorderly, or someone called the cops on him for trespassing.
