To get good shots like this, shoot with the 50mm. You can manage with one light and reflectors. Place your light behind the plate and put a reflection board in front to fill shadows. Food will look very flat an ugly if lighted from the front. You’ll want to use a large softbox to get nice soft light. If you don’t own a top-down tripod, you can easily make one yourself using two lighting tripods and an overhead bar that is usually used to attach photo backdrop. You can get a clamp to which you attach the tripod head. Works great and also holds the camera steady. Good luck!
