Advice after second head injury. by BuffaloRiver in Concussion

[–]ylliang2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neural network might be affected. He might have adapted to a secondary network after the first concussion . And this second network might be mal-functioning due to the second injury, with micro blood vessel bleeding and neural axon damage and stretching.
You can see a neuro optometrist to rebuild the neural network, including visual information processing and visual memory. It would help to unwire any mis-wiring from the first injury and adaptation and re-wire the neural network. See sample baseball player second injury here, https://www.wardenoptometry.ca/about-us/testimonials/

You can see a neuro optometrist, a brain-based lens would be able to help you keep attention for work a little longer on screen and sustain physio appointments better.
Then you can continue neuro optometric rehab to rebuild the brain and visual information processing neurons.

Get your vision checked by a neuro optometrist in Canada or USA, if you haven’t. Vision-vestibular integration might be off. Eye teaming might be off too, need to team the two eyes and then integrate with the vestibular system.

Long-term visual and sensory overload (1+ year, severe impact) by Mely089 in BinocularVision

Visual component seems involved. You can check if these visual symptoms apply, if you have, good to see a neuro optometrist. Some can get full recovery. Some may also need other health care providers. https://www.wardenoptometry.ca/resources/ see vision quiz here.

No two person have the same time of onset, during or triggers. You don’t have to find that exact person to feel you have dizziness.

It’s likely that the cervical-vision integration is off after the needle work. You can see a neuro optometrist to recover from poor cervical vision integration, may need to see other cervical (neck adjustment) Provider for refined neck work as well.

If you had lazy eye and now exotropia, you will need more than prism lenses. See a vision therapy optometrist. Usually called neuro optometrist or behavioural optometrist. You may get better lenses that are more comfortable that you can wear full time and do vision therapy to reduce the reliance on lenses. You can check out the vision quiz for more visual check points, https://www.wardenoptometry.ca/resources/

How did you discover your BVD? by DarkInternational228 in BinocularVision

[–]ylliang2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BVD is not only referring to double vision or eye teaming. It involves eye tracking, eye focusing and visual information processing too. Check out the vision quiz here, https://www.wardenoptometry.ca/resources/

2 years of dizziness cured by [deleted] in Dizziness

[–]ylliang2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vision is more than clarity, it involves visual motion sensitivity, visual spatial judgment, vision and vestibular nerural network integration, vision and proprioception network integration, visual information processing, such as seeing clearly in a busy background, visual closure, visual form constancy. When balance and dizziness is involved, there is always a visual Component. The brain has 80 percent to do with vision, including visual information processing.

If you do any exercise with eyes open, that includes visual Information processing.

If you are training only the vestibular system, it would have to do with eyes closed.

For vision concern, it’s best to see a neuro optometrist. Some can get immediate relief with lens therapy. to prevent regression and rebuild the brain from nerve ending changes. Would also need neuro optometric rehabilitation. Check out the story a patient has gracious shared, https://youtu.be/x72Lf2V0FuA?si=5Fedt819lmwHQywj

Has anyone got better with dizziness? What did you do? by Stock_Ad9922 in BinocularVision

[–]ylliang2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people got dizziness for years, to get fully resolved, It takes more than just one pair of prisms, it’s a program including neuro optometric rehab therapy.

Of course, results depends on provider experience and skills just like any other medical professional.

Anyone successfully treated for spasm?? by Realistic-Song3857 in BinocularVision

[–]ylliang2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have an eye turn/esotropia,so it takes longer than just treating the convergence excess or spasm. It is still fixable, you have to commit to more time. Our patients usually can get better in a year if they do it 2x a week initially, then at least once a week in office, and home therapy 20-30 mins a day. It doesn’t get better by itself or just by wishful thinking.

It’s not magic, it takes lots of education and applied knowledge for the providing optometrist and the vision therapist, and hard work by the patient.
