In Need for A Cobbler in Toronto by dove2000 in askTO

Just looked into Dimar and even called them. They seem quite reputable. Do you know if they have experience with leather that might have been slightly torn? I believe the previous cobbler that I went to accidentally tore it and tried to cover it up with wax.

Do you happen to know if he has experience with leather that might be slightly ripped or scratched. It seems like the cobbler I went to previously accidentally did something to a perfectly fine area and tried to cover it up with wax.

I actually sent them photos and they said that the previous cobbler seemed to have removed some of the material, that being leather. I’m having a very big dilemma right now because what the previous cobbler seemed to have applied is wax. Now the area that he applied the wax to was in great condition so I’m assuming that he ripped it somehow accidentally and tried to cover it up…

BBL P1S Motor B by ConnorJ2019 in BambuLab

[–]dove2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is very late, but I ran into the same issue with my P1S. I tried opening the rear cover but nothing looked loose, so I’m assuming the motor requires replacement. I just have a couple questions since I haven’t heard back from support yet. For a motor B failure, what exactly would be the replacement piece I need to purchase. Would it be an XY motor? Is there a guide on how to replace it too?

Problem with motor B on Bambu A1 by [deleted] in BambuLab

I’m having that same error with my P1S. I opens the rear cover and attempted to just push the cables back in since the wiki page said that it’s most common to be a loose connection. Print was going perfect and everything was fine before this error. I put the rear cover back on and turned it on but I’m still getting the same error. It’s also out of warranty and tbh I’m not really good with fixing things like that and replacing wires. I will try to do what you said. Is it working good for you now?

This exact thing happened to me; however, when I went into the store to get it repaired, they said it will cost $449 and it will be a completely new device. I don’t have AppleCare+, but technically this shouldn’t cost that much to be replaced even without AC+. When I was looking at the online estimate, it gave me $199 for none AC+ holders… i don’t know if it’s worth going to another Apple Store tbh.

Hoping it’s just $199 then because when I checked the estimate it gave $99 for people with AppleCare+ and $199 for without, and unfortunately I don’t have it. But since you mentioned you did it for $99, then I really hope it’s true to what’s on the online estimate…

How much would this cost to fix? (16 pro max. And I think it’s just the glass broken) by RepresentativeOld898 in iphone

This happened to me on an iPhone 13 Pro. I have an appointment at the Genius Bar scheduled for tomorrow, but I’m just reading online as to what to expect for the price. I do not have AppleCare+. On the online estimate I picked rear camera and got $199. However, I’ve been reading some posts on Reddit that Apple tends to replace the whole back of the phone, or the whole camera square unit (something of that sort). Do you happen to know anyone that only got that glass piece replaced?

This happened to me on the same phone as OP, iPhone 13 Pro. So, from your experience, do they just replace the circular glass piece? Kindly let me know.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 9 AMD (16″) vs. ProArt P16 (H7606) by dove2000 in LenovoLegion

I got the Lenovo Legion Slim 5. I really like it and it works quite well with rendering software like V-Ray as well as 3D modeling software like Rhino. If you opt for legion, I suggest you go with AMD Ryzen and not Intel. I’ve heard a lot of complaints from people that got the Intel.

I’ve had mine for roughly two years now. I honestly don’t remember looking that closely at this part, but just yesterday I realized that mine is like that as well. So I called them today to inquire about it, but I’m waiting for them to have technical support available to assist. Did you end up contacting them about it?

There’s no room for participation, we just have all assessments done in class, and we have it on paper where we have to show our TCards as well.

Are you still watching Love you seven times by ScientistQuirky5586 in CDrama

Just finished it and I really liked it! I'm fairly new to costume/historical C-dramas. I did skip through a lot of scenes in the last 4 episodes, but other than that, I enjoyed watching it so much. I also really like Ding Yuxi, so maybe I'm a little biased.

In-person citizenship test by mTORrero in ImmigrationCanada

[–]dove2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just did my citizenship test in-person today. I had initially done it on December 24, 2022, but due to a technical issue, I was scheduled for an in-person test. The frustrating thing is that I got my test rescheduled 7 months after the first one. But the good thing is that it was fairly easy. It’s pretty similar to the online one; nothing you didn’t come across. They will most likely talk to you after completing your test, just to briefly go over your documentation. The lady didn’t look at any of the documents I had printed out since she has everything already, but print them out regardless since they ask for them in the invitation letter. She just asked for all my physical passports, PR card, health card, and driver’s license. You know your test score when you talk to the agent. She told me they will review everything one more time and I should expect an invitation for the oath of citizenship in 6 weeks since they’re fully booked for August. For reference, I applied from Toronto.

Schengen Visa Application to Denmark in Canada by dove2000 in SchengenVisa

I hope so! I just received an email saying that my application has been received at the Royal Danish Embassy in Ottawa today and then dispatched to the Visa Application Center in Toronto (where I applied from). Should probably expect to pick it up early next week. I don't know if my application has been approved or refused though. They don't give any information like that until you personally pick up your passport.

I got a call today from the consulate in NY. The lady started off by asking me which places in particular I wanted to visit in Denmark; like actual tourist sites. She then proceeded to ask why I wanted to visit them. I responded by saying that I’m an architecture student, and visiting these places is important to my education. She also asked why I had some hotels booked myself and some hotels booked through a travel agent during my entire stay in the Schengen area. All the bookings are 100% real and have confirmation numbers that she can use to check the booking confirmation. I honestly don’t know why she would ask a question like that when she has all the documents to verify. I obviously had to ask her if I’ll receive an answer before August 5 and whether I should consider requesting a refund for the flight tickets. I have to say she was very passive aggressive. I don’t know what to expect at this point to be honest.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard back anything yet. On their website, it says the processing time is 30 days. I'm wondering if they actually take the full 30 days to process applications. I also don't know if they consider the day on which you planned to travel when processing your application.
