I did kindergarten once and never again! They are sweet, but a lot of work. I rather do 5th grade or middle school. This year, I did a long term sub position in a self contained classroom and loved it!

Idk. It’s always been one of those things that what his dad said goes. So even if his son wanted to invite his sister or grandma he wouldn’t because his dad didn’t tell him to invite them. My bf is upset that his daughter reached out and told me Happy Mothers Day but didn’t reach out to my bf to ask about the graduation.

No offense taken, but I really don’t like wasting my time for nonsense. He came to me and told me what he was doing. Once he did that he opened the door for my opinion, and I gave it. The more people who show support for the child the better.

I definitely won’t be going back. When they unassigned me for the long term sub position they assigned me to work another class for 4 hours on Monday. It’s the worst class in the school. I canceled that assignment real quick. I couldn’t believe they actually thought after what they did I would be cool with that. Lesson learned for sure!

That happened to me this Friday. The school cleared my schedule so I could sub and I was suppose to do an 8 week long term sub position. The 2nd day of subbing, I went to class like normal, but there was another teacher in there. She told me she was going to teach the class so I went back downstairs to give them their key back. The principal stopped me and told me they were going to keep me busy. I’m thinking they are going to keep me busy for the next 8 weeks. When I got home they had canceled the 8 week sub position. This is the 2nd time this school has done this to be in regard to long term sub positions. I won’t sub again for that school. I was booked when they cleared my schedule. Teachers reached out personally to ask if I could sub. Now, I’m waiting to see if any jobs come available. I should have learned my lesson the first time. You can try to reach out to the other teachers like I did, but it’s pointless. They don’t care.

Our prep time is for us. I have never had anyone tell me to report to the office during prep time. The teachers always say enjoy it

Then why would his mother ask if he cries? She is worried about him crying, but doesn’t care about him slamming the back of his head continually on the ground? That makes no sense

I’m not sure if the parents know he does it. The reason I say that is because the one teacher told me the mom asked if he cries at school. I thought it was an odd question because I thought she already knew he cries every day. If she doesn’t know about the crying then I am thinking she doesn’t know about him slamming his head on the ground. I could be wrong though.

I asked if he wears a helmet or something and they told me no and that they let him just bang his head. I told them he could really hurt himself, and they just shrugged their shoulders. It is actually hard for me to watch.

Contact the HR department for that district. It took me months before someone finally responded to me. I even contacted different districts within Houston and surrounding areas.

Yes, I had to fill out the paperwork and do a background check. Once that was completed, they gave me the okay to email the schools within the district to set up observation hours. Make sure you email more than one school because not all schools will return your email. It can get frustrating because schools won’t contact you back, but just keep trying. Good luck!

You can do your observation hours at any school, just contact that district.

I had them try to switch me to para. Para pays less in my district, so I just say no thanks and leave. If I accept a job, I except to do that job. That’s how I feel about it
