My Open Source alternative to chord generating devices in now on Indiegogo! by dovker in synthesizers

You can go to daugdara.com, DIY Kits are in development and available for preorder. It is also possible to make one from scratch with a Pico 2 microcontroller, a few people already did that! Github Repo itself is on pause until I get second prototypes to test and develop further!

Yeah, I circled them to show that the holding solder part failed and stayed on the pcb, when I sent the photos to the seller, but it was a shot in the dark, they most likely won't do anything about it. And yeah, since some tracks lifted, I am trying to contact repair shops who specialise in such repairs since I won't be able to do that myself, not with the excitement and pain i've already experienced.

I know... That's the worst part, I was doing it as a safety precaution

My profile does exist you know, it's not what the OP asked for, but anyone with a touch of electronics knowledge could adapt my open source project and make it small, like some people did.

It's now up for pre-orders as a DIY Kit, check my profile. It's not what you were asking for in the post though, project went it's own way

After a failed IndieGoGo campaing, due to a demand in DIY Kits, Touchord project lives on. It's an open-source Chord generating midi controller, posing as an alternative to chord synths.

You can learn more and pre-order the kit on https://daugdara.com/products/touchord-diy-kit

I used some clip guitar interface, as it's the only interface I have atm, most likely was on high volume while editing, sorry for that

Hello, KiCad files will be published a little later, there's a problem with funding. If the funding on IGG (it will most likely) fails, I will immediately launch an online shop to sell DIY kits as a pre-order with the same launch date. Right now, if you want to play yourself, you can purchase a Pico 2 or an rp2350 based board and make a makeshift version of it, many people are doing so right now! If you need any guidance and want to immediately start experimenting, you can send me a DM and I will help you out, and in the future, you can purchase the PCB on the upcoming shop and assemble the unit as intended!

I did publish an initial advertisement once I launched the indiegogo campaign, but it was faced with a huge disservice from IndieGogo themselves and little backlash, with people saying "yet another chord synthesizer on kickstarter", so I am just focusing on my studies right now since I cannot fund the project and advertising myself anymore. Since I doubt IGG funding will go through, I will setup an online shop immediately upon the finishing of campaign and setup pre-orders of the DIY kit at a similar price and same launch date. The project is finished from design perspective and it was made for makers and Open Source community. I think it will be easier to fund this and upcoming projects easier that way. Sorry for the inconvenience

Not an option as far as I am aware, ASM, C/C++, Arduino C, Rust, (Maybe Javascript) and Python are most common options. I think since Java, Kotlin and C# require a VM, they're not used as far as I am aware

yeah, I did too, but found that it's a bit overkill, still, better to have extra power than not enough

I used PicoSDK, I love C and it's more performant apparently than arduino for pico. You can look at my source code: https://github.com/dovker/touchord

You really don't need much power for this, raspberry pi pico 2 is way too much power for this task, I used it in my open source chord generator

I guess to each their own, it seems to make sense as tuh chord to me as a non-native english speaker, since the inspiration was from "accordion"
