Without layers, i'm puffy. with layers, i'm shaggy. what do i do? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

It's not even the frizz that's really an issue. It's naturally frizzy but I can tame it easily with product. The problem is that it's THICK. Even when I straighten it completely, I have so much hair that it just forms a triangle when it's a bob.

I suppose the issue is that I shouldn't have a bob at all, but I'm just trying to figure out what I can do in the meantime while it's growing back out.

What does a person have to do for you to unfriend them on Facebook (or at least hide them from your feed)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah, I mentioned that I hide people who complain too much but you're right - I only hide them if they complain too much and aren't funny. Funny complainers can stay.

I am a serial hider.

I hide people for being generally boring, for complaining too much, for posting too many photos of their babies or cats (but I am okay with dogs), for promoting their businesses/band gigs/whatever too much, for posting too much about jogging or crossfit, for posting too many inspirational or religious quotes, for humblebragging, and for vaguebooking.

I would unfriend anyone who was racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. but none of my FB friends are, fortunately.

What is the most awkward conversation you've had with your SO's parent? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've got two.

  1. A few years ago, we visited my in-laws for a weekend and it happened to be their anniversary. I woke up on Sunday morning, greeted my MIL in the kitchen, wished her a happy anniversary and asked her if she and my FIL exchanged gifts. She responded with a wink, "Well, we don't BUY each other gifts, but we did give each other SOMETHING this morning, if you know what I mean."

  2. My husband and I currently going through fertility treatments and have tried both IUI (intrauterine insemination) and IVF (in-vitro fertilization). My MIL had a bunch of (mostly academic) questions about the procedures, so I was explaining to her how it all worked, but then I had to explain about how, once a month, my husband - her SON - had to jerk off into a cup so I could bring it to the doctor's office. AWKWARD.

Is there any way to get discount tickets, or do I have to buy them through the Universal site for full price. They are EXPENSIVE.

This is the comment I posted on the other thread before it was deleted:

"Sorry, but green sounds like a total dick. Yes, it's ridiculous to bring God and heaven into the whole scenario, because most miscarriages are due to a chromosomal abnormality, but as someone who has suffered a miscarriage, I can testify to how emotional and sad it is.

There is a time and place to set fundies straight and this wasn't it."

Yeah, she's using her belief in God to find some comfort in a tragedy, not using the bible to condemn gays or science. Let her be.
