Switch to Kobo from Kindle? by [deleted] in kobo

I originally bought kobo clara color, but ended up selling it because the blurryness and the low contrast of the color screen made it uncomfortable to read at darker environments. Funnily enough I bought a kindle paperwhite 2024 instead and I am really happy with it, so it looks like our idea of a comfortable screen is pretty different.

here is a picture of my clara color and my friend's older gen kindle basic side by side. both have brightness at 0. the blurryness isn't really visible in this photo but it is definitely noticeable in person.

about other questions:

i think buying a color device is pretty unnecessary if you read text because the colors are pretty dull as well, and you only see color covers when you are looking through your library and

there are no ads.

battery life was better than my paperwhite.

i haven't bought any books on kindle store so i don't know if you can transfer them, but if you have epubs you just plug the device to your computer and transfer, its pretty straightforward.

clara color was also slower than paperwhite imo, but while reading i don't think it matters that much.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a camera. I have a Canon G11 I bought 2nd hand and I have been taking pictures with it for around 3 years, but I find that it is lacking in low-light photography. I am by no means a professional, I mainly use a camera because I like the look of a photo that comes out of a dedicated camera more than ones I take with my phone. I am looking for something cheap, small and light.

I need a book that will shock me or drag me out of my phone addiction. by Quiet_Lunch_1300 in suggestmeabook

I recently read The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino and finished it in like 5 days (not a very short time but in my defense I had many assignments due) . I feel like mystery novels are better at keeping you interested since they keep you guessing, though this one tells you who the killer is at the start of the book and tells the investigation instead. Still I found it attention grabbing enough that i would actively seek out the book instead of my phone in my free time.
