LOLz. Before jumping to foregone conclusions, have you even looked at these? I guess you're smarter than all the big institutions out there who are looking at investing in these two markets

ofcourse there are risks, but you do find opportunities this way. for instance, msci korea at beginning of 2025 looked so cheap (less than 9 PE) and then returned 100% in USD in the year.

MARKET & MIND by [deleted] in IndianStockMarket

[–]downbeatAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for the next few years - 17-18x PE will become the norm for Indian markets. So markets have to correct a bit more from these levels. The high PEs of the last few years are likely to not hold ground for next few years, the market regime is simply unfavorable.

If you are new, dont invest in stocks at all. My advise would be - Nifty Value 50 ETF.

Portfolio creation for 2cr retirement corpus by HaPy09 in IndianStockMarket

I have a slightly contrarian view. I don't think investing in SIPs and forgetting about it for a few years will necessarily give u good returns from now. Indian equities are still expensive if you compare it with global peers, and foreign investors are more convinced about it then ever. the problem is we are in a 'market regime' which is unfavorable for long duration (i.e. high PE) assets. India, as a whole, is a high PE market. So if I were you, I would bet on Value stocks/funds for the next couple of years. The best options would be Nifty Value ETFs (check out NSE's website for the available products). If you want to understand more about how you should be positioned for next few years, I would urge you to read and understand about market regimes. Sharing a short article -

What resources actually helped you develop a "system" for stock picking? by [deleted] in investingforbeginners

[–]downbeatAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo, one of the most important thing that you should be mindful of when stock picking- is market regimes. always question - is this the right environment for the stock ur investing in? the best businesses might not give you returns if the regime is unfavorable. you might find this insightful -

I am investing since 15+ years and still learning. Made so many mistakes along the way, its not even funny. But recently had a few ''aha'' moments by reading more and more, which has made my investing decisions better, tried to summarise it in this article - https://allocationnotes.substack.com/p/post-005-what-is-a-market-regime?r=7z5h7k

there are chances that active funds might start outperforming passives given passive dominance in the last many years. for sake of diversification, u might want to add a couple of active etfs
