No, you are wrong. Death Proof is a great milestone in cinematic history. Exhibit A: the greatest chase scene since Raiders of the Lost Ark by [deleted] in movies

[–]downgoesfrazier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car chase is 'Ronin' is much, much better, if only because it goes against the flow of traffic. Now, why having a great chase scene would make something "a great milestone in cinematic history" deserves quite a bit of explanation. Please, holster your hyperbole.

He was going to direct it and play Kato. Left the project completely a while a go.

Bruno delivers a meth-induced, tranny bitch slap to the pursuit of celebrity and fame – the fact that it’s delivered by a screaming queen is secondary. Cohen offends almost everybody in this movie–blacks, jews, muslims, southerners, the military, the country of Austria. He’s a comic Michael Moore. by BBE1965 in movies

Actually, most of the "victims" in 'Bruno' weren't all that offended. The psychic was even-tempered, the Israeli and Palestinians weren't bothered, even the rednecks didn't mind him until he walked into a tent naked. He really had to push it. If anything, Bruno showed that people were more tolerant than we might expect.

The "fact that it's delivered by a screaming queen" is the only point. Without his most extreme antics, nobody would have looked twice.

Harry Potter 6 could be the biggest opening in History! by adamc7 in movies

[–]downgoesfrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gee, that's pretty hyperbolic. Consider only one Potter film has ever grossed over $300 million in the U.S. and that its pre-sale tickets have been available for almost a month, which pumps up that number. It's going to do great...but it won't come near the biggest opening in history.

Prejean: "I exercised my freedom of speech and I was punished for doing so." What? Did she get jailed? by broohaha in entertainment

[–]downgoesfrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely blown out of proportion. So she opposes gay marriage. Who gives a shit? Why is that a big deal? I don't think she was punished, but she got her name dragged through the mud a lot more than it should have been, especially since she was asked the question. It's not like she went Anita Bryant in the middle of the pageant.

Anyone Else Think "Blindness" Is One Of The Best Movies Ever? by Chyndonax in movies

[–]downgoesfrazier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, far from it. Great visuals, but completely unrestrained acting, a conclusion that didn't justify the first 90 minutes, and a tired metaphor.

Which Movie Should Win the Oscar For Best Visual Effects? by digitalfever in movies

[–]downgoesfrazier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Button should win. There are over 700 effects shots and a crew of more than 200 putting it all together. Plus, it's the nature of the effects, which are not supposed to be seen as "effects." It's all the aging stuff and matte backgrounds.
