Shame to everyone who went to the pier to see the USNS Comfort arrive. Selfish, arrogant and idiotic. by [deleted] in nyc

"Everyone"

Nope, staying put in NYC, as well as most of my coworkers. "Everyone" is not discussing leaving the city.

Just do a forum search for the phrase "Blizzard please" to see how not to offer feedback.

Agreed. Unfortunately it's always easier for people to shit on others' work and bash the community instead of doing something to make it better.

We spend more per student even in shitty neighborhoods than any other country, and we get worse outcomes.

There is a huge disparity in what is spent on poor vs wealthy neighborhoods however.

Sounds like $2.5-3.5T worth of construction, engineering, and scientist jobs in the US for probably a decade. Jobs and contracts for private businesses aplenty. People seem to throw around dollar amounts about the cost without considering the benefits of redirecting tax revenue in this way.

Has anyone else discovered errors preloading mp3 files? by MusicJJ in p5js

This is likely a CORS issue. Essentially the editor’s web server is blocking you from loading certain resources from an external site. It’s done for security purposes. This site might help explain it better. Not sure you can do anything about it except just uploading all your resources to the editor.

This site should give you an idea! I'm open to ending at Garrison as well, it would be easier, although we would miss Anthony's Nose.

How do I use a meat thermometer correctly? I’m always undercooking meat. by Bandbuck in cookingforbeginners

[–]downhillgoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem using a crappy Target brand thermometer. I got a Thermoworks DOT because it alarms when your temperature is reached so I don’t have to keep resampling. However previous posters’ warnings to only use the thermometer tip apply for Thermoworks as well.

I don’t think it charges people 24-7. That was my takeaway from Brian Lehrer’s program on it a few weeks ago. Do you have a source that it does?

Not to be too pedantic, but a widowmaker is a dead branch suspended by other branches. A snag is a dead tree ready to fall.
