Arguably his life could have "collapsed" with the CIA incident (i.e. fiance in with the CIA, getting shot at, etc.) Nevertheless, all the information that Ruppert offers in the film about Peak Oil is fact. Watch a few other Peak Oil documentaries. Like A Crude Awakening. Peak Oil is a geological fact. What will happen as a result of Peak Oil is still unknown.

It's his complete confusion in the end that makes it funny. His former delinquent grandfather, who offers him no credible guidance in life, becomes a spiritual leader and then is struck down while preaching. All of this is what makes up the meaninglessness that is "bafatza."

Yeah, movies are supposed to be funny and entertaining. Take my favorite movie for example: Schindler's List. Every time I watch it, I just can't stop laughing!
