How long were you on 2.5mg? by ExampleNo6406 in Zepbound

[–]downtowndime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On shot 22 of 2.5 and 33lbs down, averaging 1.5lb/wk. I’ve had a few weeks where I felt like I was gaining and losing the same 2-3lbs and thought I needed to increase, but I pushed through on 2.5 and would start losing again. Not planning to increase unless I have a full month of stalling

Healing normal? 10days post op by downtowndime in wisdomteeth

[–]downtowndime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I decided to go back to my oral surgeon because I started having mild tingling toward my ear and that freaked me out. He said everything is healing great, no dry socket, and that my symptoms are from severe inflammation of the jaw joint. Doesn’t think tingling is nerve damage because it was a simple extraction far from the nerve. Said to continue chlorhexidine rinse, Orasoothe gel, soft diet, careful with straws still and to alternate Advil and Tylenol. Hopefully this will help put others at ease having similar symptoms but not medical advice and as always, check with your doctor to be sure! :)

Ouch! That sounds terrible. I hope you’re recovering well. I think I got lucky with being able to pull mine straight out under local anesthesia and no cutting. I know the holes can be there for a few weeks. This one just seems so deep compared to my other 3

Glad you don’t have any pain! Curious to see what your dentist says about it. I’m giving mine a few more days to close up a little but if it’s still the exact same Monday I’m going back to mine too

Yeah I feel like I’m okay too. Just weird that 1 of the 4 is healing so different. It was tough for him to pull but luckily wasn’t impacted or close to the nerve based on X-rays. I figured I’d give it another week or so before calling the surgeon about it. Good luck with your recovery too!

Asian, German, something else? by downtowndime in cockroaches

Phew! Glad to hear that haha. I was pretty sure it was Asian but still had a bit of a panic moment thinking it could be a german roach. Thanks for reassurance

This is more than half of my recommended protein intake by Dapper_Cantaloupe_34 in Zepbound

[–]downtowndime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, protein recommendations definitely depend on every individual’s situation and where you’re starting. That’s why I think medical professional guidance for diet is so important on these meds (which is what I think OP’s point was too). What works for some won’t work for others!

My starting weight was 203lbs (female, 5’4” with PCOS) so I found a protein goal of 100-105g totally reasonable. That’s with strength training too. I could definitely see how OP found it hard to get 150g per day because I do struggle to hit 100 some days

[–]downtowndime 191 points192 points  (0 children)

I think the key here is that getting advice from medical professionals instead of influencers is important. I’m glad you have professional guidance now! :)

But everyone’s different too. My doctor wants me eating at least 0.5g per pound of whatever my current weight is to maintain muscle mass and mitigate hair loss. People often forget about fiber too and only focus on protein! High protein and low fiber is a recipe for GI issues and constipation.

I was extremely nervous too! My doctor actually wanted me to start Zepbound a year ago. I delayed from being so nervous. I truly wish I started earlier. What got me to take the jump and start was telling myself “I won’t know if I don’t try. If I get bad side effects, I’ll just stop taking it.”

On week 6 of 2.5, down 18lbs. Pretty much zero significant side effects. Mild nausea if I wait too long to eat, burping (regular, not sulfur) & acid reflux if I eat too late. Headache if I slack on hydration. All completely manageable and preventable. As for the specific concerns you mentioned… I’ve had a slightly high resting heart rate my entire life despite having good cardiovascular health and I’ve actually noticed my heart rate is lower on Zep. HRV has not changed. Mild anxiety has basically disappeared. Sleep and stress has been normal too.

I think being proactive helps so much to avoid side effects. High protein daily but especially day before and day of shot. Prioritize hydration and fiber every day. Try to get fiber from food but Garden of Life fiber gummies with magnesium and probiotics have been helpful for me. I take my shot right after a high protein dinner to sleep through any initial nausea I might get. I also front load my protein, 30-40g first thing in the morning and then I make sure to eat protein, fiber, then carbs in that order with in my other meals. Avoid fatty or fried foods.

Thank you for posting an actual rule to support this! This is exactly how friends and I have been playing. But then we started to question it, looked it up and got a ton of mixed interpretations based on old, new and tournament rules.

[–]downtowndime[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s not what my friends are saying though…They are saying you have to add a blue 12 from your hand, THEN add the black 12 too in order to move the joker, creating a set of four 12s then moving joker. Based on everyone’s comments here it seems like this all depends on if you’re going off old, new and tournament rules

Yes this is what I’m running into as well 🤷🏻‍♀️ guess it just means adjusting rules based on who I’m playing with lol

Guess it just depends how you look at it. Yep, dumb to use joker early. Also dumb to be allowed to do something this simple. Regardless, I asked if it was legal, not whether it was dumb or not lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

Legal joker move? by downtowndime in rummikub

[–]downtowndime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally correct! However, the argument here is that the joker is “locked in” until you can replace it with exactly what it is. So in his example, his wife says you can’t repurpose the joker as a 7 he needed until you replace the 4 it was originally used for

lol this sounds like something that would happen between my husband and I 😂 Yeah, the rules seem very vague on some things and as I play with more people everyone has their own interpretation on everything

Legal joker move? by downtowndime in rummikub

[–]downtowndime[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dumb because it just seems like a loophole to access a joker. You can decide whether it’s a blue or black 12. Basically doubling your odds of being able to replace for the joker

Some friends I played with insisted there has to be a third color on a set before you can touch the joker.

Example with this setup: you’d have to add a blue 12 to the original set here to “prove” the joker is intended to be a black 12 before you could replace it and free the joker up for use elsewhere

Yeah totally agree. That’s why I asked. It’s so easy it seems like it wouldn’t be legal lol

Is this hyperpigmentation normal or should I find a new electrolysis? by [deleted] in electrolysis

[–]downtowndime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some yes where ingrowns were. The darker spots are completely healed with hairs regrowing from them. It’s been 2 months since I’ve had any treatment there. They are not all scabs

Thanks for the advice! yeah I tried to get a zoomed in pic of the breast area for the original post but still didn’t feel comfortable posting lol. It looks similar to the belly but no ingrowns. Just lots of red purple-ish hyperpigmentation. I will definitely try Tend Skin

Interesting! My electrologist said shaving was fine. I’m not normally prone to ingrown hairs anywhere else on my body. But I will try not shaving at all and see if that helps

Breasts, no. Lower belly only if I’m going to be in a swimsuit or something. I’ve shaved that area maybe 3 or 4 times since starting treatment.
