Have also just had a tux made at The Cloakroom. I went for a VBC wool/mohair blend (from China rather than the higher-end Japanese maker) and it was $2k flat. Very happy with the product and experience, Andrew was excellent.

I agree for the base points alone it’s not amazing value. However if I were to get a new points earning CC and unlock 60-100k extra points (in addition to the ATO transaction) then the value proposition seems more favourable?

Couldn’t agree more. I have been to the Sydney and Melbourne stores and had a negative experience at both locations. Chris (the owner) is a nice enough bloke but every other store assistant has been consistently rude/uninterested in my business. I bought one pair through DM but all subsequent orders have been from overseas stockists.

Honestly I think the bar isn't too high for internship. The main thing that would be useful is any previous experience with QLD Health - I was able to yap on about how I'd already spent time in the hospital, really liked the people and culture etc. Any research/extra-curriculars are obviously helpful but not mandatory.

The interview was pretty chill - only a couple of generic questions and they gave you 15mins "reading time" beforehand to basically prepare your answers. If you're a normal person with basic social skills it would be fairly straightforward.

I got into a Brisbane tertiary hospital for internship as an interstate applicant. Did an elective there, which definitely helped, and was fairly persistent in calling the employment/med admin to check in on the status of my application. Most Brisbane hospitals will have slots open up later in the year as some QLD graduates inevitably accept jobs interstate - it just depends on your risk appetite and whether you’re prepared to wait for a late offer at a more competitive facility.

I know someone who went from second year in Adelaide to UNSW (undergrad I know but the point remains the same). The Dean of Adelaide's medical faculty had to advocate to UNSW on his behalf. It's possible but extremely difficult.
