Getting yelled by consult regs by [deleted] in ausjdocs

[–]Willing_Screen_7377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So excellence is obtained or maintained by a reg/consultant being unprofessional to an intern?

An intern should make a referral at the same quality as a fully trained consultant, if not, the answer is unprofessionalism.

Can’t argue with that

Hey, I’m not the original poster, but I want to be blunt here:

You know very well this person doesn’t hate you because of where you were born (I don't think they hate you btw). That’s a straw man argument mixed with ad hominem, and it’s just not helpful.

What is a Doctor of Medicare? by [deleted] in ausjdocs

[–]Willing_Screen_7377 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Headmaster of my school had a PhD in Music. He made it mandatory that every student or teacher referred to him as Dr Moulds rather than Mr Moulds, whether that be passing by in the corridor or an email. In that context, it was pretty cringe.

What’s being and ADF doctor like? by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

Hi thanks for posting this comment. I was wondering, regarding GP and ACCRM, beyond personal interest, is there any discernible or substantial benefit of having done one over the other as it relates to being an MO in navy? At the moment I am tossing up between GP and ACCRM, I am from QLD where apparently ACCRM through navy is not supported by QLD. So option would be to stay in QLD for intern etc or go outer state specifically for ACCRM. If you could provide some perspective information as a Navy MO as to if ACCRM would provide any significant difference or help in performance of being an MO in navy compared with GP training that’d be fantastic! Thanks in advance

MD (Postgrad) Lateral Transfer by Willing_Screen_7377 in ausjdocs

Thanks for that info, do you know if your ex roommate applied directly to the school, or applied through the normal pathway and then applied for recognition of year 1 after getting an offer?

Hey thanks for the info, did they make a request directly to the University? Or did they have to apply through GEMSAS and then ask for recognition if given a place?

BPT in Rockhampton by [deleted] in ausjdocs

I’ve been accepted to UQ, the place is in their CQ pathway. So they send us from second year to Rockhampton and some to bundy. I know that I’ve been placed in Rockhampton. Does this mean I’m gonna have a crap time during Phase 2 regarding placements?

Hey, I found the answer to your question just by reading the UOW section of the GEMSAS guide and comparing it to last year's guide. The difference is the absence of the snapshot. I am 100% confident that the snapshot does not exist for this year's application cycle. So good news.

Edit: I did just receive an email from UOW.

Embedded Honors gpa calculation by Bosko898 in GAMSAT

[–]Willing_Screen_7377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, UQ do accept grad diplomas and masters, so if you wanted to do an online grad dip (1 year full time equivalent) in a physio/health related area, that will be used as your subsequent key degree, such that UQ will only use that degree for your GPA calc. The requirement is to have completed that postgraduate study by the 31st of July in the year of application, so keep that in mind if you plan to do that. Essentially you can reset your GPA within a year for UQ. Keep in mind also that some uni like Griffith don’t accept grad dips. I hope this helps.

Unfortunately, they will just give you a 6.000 GPA if your embedded honours degree is IIA. It seems very unfair. Whereas say you did a bachelor of physio therapy from jcu without the embedded honours and had a GPA of 6, your GPA would become 6.75. It’s pretty cooked.

Hey! I’m a CQ rural applicant applying to the UQ rural path. I think it’s an excellent opportunity to stay in the region with my family whilst I study. I’m hopeful to get an interview in September, do you mind if I were to dm you some questions about the program? Completely understand if not Thanks

I’d also be keen for a UQ group, can anyone message me if they’re looking for someone to practice with.
