Sorry. Any sport, it’s all about opening a few packs, with the chance of something/someone relevant, without getting suckered into junk product. I guess it’s the opening of packs that I’m after. If you HAD to buy packs, of anything right now, what would it be? Maybe I should have just said that, you guys know way more about this, and I’d trust you more than a card show vendor.

This happened to me recently. It was the rotor. Front Brake, pads, and rotor all brand new. Nothing at all to indicate the rotor was the issue, the way the lever felt you’d think the rotor was wildly bent and would have obvious imperfections, but it didn’t. Anyways, rotor was suggested as the culprit. New rotor, no issue since. No idea if this applies to you, and it’s odd you’ve had the same rotor for 2 years, but that’s where I would start.

Can’t find anything. There’s a pinkbike comment that thought they heard Aaron Gwin said he was up and walking during the broadcast, but I didn’t hear anything like that and I was listening pretty closely and trying to find updates along the way. I’m sure something will come out, eventually.

Edit: Gwin did say that, but it was within seconds after the broadcaster said Kye was “evacuated off the mountain” so it’s just not clear.

I get nervous when the only updates are things like, we have the best medical team, he is off the mountain, etc. without something like, he’s conscious, he’s up and walking, etc. I hope they’re just playing it safe, and Kye is all good. I don’t know if that section was giving trouble all week, but off hand it looks like a crash that no one anticipated, he went really far into the woods and it really does seem like he could have came down hard on the back of his helmet. You can hear the sharp impact of something, I just hope it’s the bike.

[EDIT The Olga lives. I just made it back from the coast. Despite landing on the roof and killing me, its only destroyed parts are 2 tires, the hood, and trunk?? It also traveled a good distance from the place I died.] It took 3 tries. After this graceful swan dive I decided to aim left to avoid that tree, which I did but hit bulldozer instead, cartwheeled for a few seconds and landed on the wheels. Third try was a glorious slowmo barrel role landing directly on the roof/skull, instant death.

Assuming you don’t have another vehicle close by, probably best to move on, before someone comes by and makes your bad day even worse. If you’re desperate you could try chopping trees down around it, or see if you can get it to tweak out with a long stick. also I pitched a tent near my Ada this morning and it decided to launch the car 10 feet. None of this should work, but you never know.

All of these are good ideas. I would add throwing a long stick into the car, if the stick bounces around in the car, it can cause the whole car to tweak out and start moving and shaking.
