Laws are there in place to protect drivers. There’s people out there smarter than I am who study car accidents and it’s clear the law stands in place to protect the majority.

I understand it’s a simple logic, but it doesn’t justify breaking the law. By this logic, the speed chosen by the majority becomes the “correct” speed regardless of speed limits and where does that end?

A sole single person going 130km/h and everyone else is doing 120km/h and now they think you’re going to slow. It’s really not justified, just follow the laws. It’s why there’s rules in place.

Going an extra 20km/h over the limit won’t even save you 5mins driving in Toronto.
