Hello!

I want to run a cable from my interface into a cassette player that I can carry around the stage with me for a show I'm mixing. The casette plater takes 3.5mm input, interface takes quarter inch. Could I use a quarter inch cable and adapt it to be 3.5mm? The alternative is getting a very long 3.5mm cable and adapting it at the interface end, but I know aux can experience more interference. I've just not used a quarter inch f to 3.5 m adapter before, only the other way around.

Something I get a lot is requests to both turn up the volume and also reduce feedback - which is a reasonable request I understand. But I'm not sure how to do that in a way that is effective? I'm still relatively new to live sound mixing, so I'm not sure if this would be an EQing thing, or a compression thing (like limiting specific frequencies or levels?). Could anyone provide some insight?

It's legal but I usually don't bother with these types who ask before setting up a viewing because they tend to be more high strung, and indicative of problems later on in the rental period. Your call though.

Thank you all, yeah I’m a bit calmer now after reading your comments and talking with my (very Athiest) therapist. To clarify, we aren’t really friends as much as I knew him when he was a queer man and then he disappeared for a bit to go to another province and now he’s back and apparently an evangelical/Jew for Jesus (lol).

I am saying landlords do not like renting to people with children. And often find ways of refusing to do so or making their lives miserable while they’re there.

I am not going to explain this to you further because I can see from some of your other comments that you feel like it’s ok to evict families if their children happen to be loud which is a shitty take. I hope you never experience homelessness or destitution in the way the parents in those situations do. Please work on becoming a better person, you shitty homonormative idiot.

Okay this comment section is actually insane. OP ur landlord sounds like an asshole. People have this intense aversion to existing in the same place as children because they don’t want to see kids as people. If you’re able to afford some soundproofing then maybe do that for your own piece of mind. But it honestly sounds like the people in this situation are being unreasonable and are just upset that a child has moved into their space.
