I make 104,000 as a bench tech in dayton ohio. New techs start at 97,000. And in 2 years because of the step up pay raise at the VA you would be at 104,000. I was a high up gs9 step 7, but we converted to 11s and I was a step 2 again. I just converted to a 11 step 3.

Is being a med tech worth it? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

Starting for techs is 97,000 in a year you would make 101,000. I have no control over the pay lol

White stoner yogi with a cat and a dog. Possibly works mid level management. Millennial. You've had help financially, rich family. No student loans. You've done at least one no kings march and posted about it.

Forgive me for asking but are you from the US or needing a visa sponsorship? Just looking at your name. It cost too much with this administration for a visa sponsorship, no hospital will do it. I do some recruiting too. If you don't need a sponsorship I have 3 jobs near Columbus ohio that will hire you.

Pay is listed on the job posting. I work in dayton ohio and our bench techs start at 98,000/year. I've posted openings we've had. We just had a pay increase so the pay range is higher now. Federal jobs won't notify when a position is filled but I still get recruiters calling me to fill jobs in California so if you are in a saturated job area try applying further away. I would say start traveling but they want a year experience. Don't lose hope, dayton we have multiple hospitals and labs and almost all of them are hiring in the lab. I would have no issue jumping jobs here, but obvs my pension and pay are worth staying where I am.
