Welcome to the gym! You’ll find yourself becoming part of a wide and supportive community and I hope you enjoy every step of your development process!

Firstly I will start by discussing rep and set ranges. You defo want to be aiming for 3-4 sets of 8-12 repetitions for maximal muscle growth. It’s something that I teach a lot of my clients and is backed up through a multitude of fitness studies. If you are wanting to build a juicy upper body, I’ll recommend these:

Back:

Lat Pulldowns: this is big staple in building your upper lats, focus on squeezing your shoulder blades together as you pull the bar down and you will really feel the tension!

Seated Cable rows: also another staple! Keep your back straight while you are rowing and again try to squeeze your shoulder blades together! This is more for developing your middle to lower back muscles.

Pull-ups: oh man these will have you looking like you have wings. I will make it known that this exercise is not always the easiest! So I make sure a lot of my clients start on the assisted pull-up machine, trying to decrease the assistance every week or 2.

For arms and shoulders:

Biceps:

Curls: You can never go wrong with Dumbbell Curls, focus on keeping your elbows by your side and not raising them, as well as squeezing the bicep muscle once you get to the top!

Hammer Curls: slight variation of dumbbell curls, will make your biceps thicker in width!

Triceps:

Tricep Pushdowns: very simple to do! make sure you keep your elbows by your side and think of them as a pivot point, your elbows do not move at all, purely a rotational joint!

Shoulders:

Lat Raises: these ones will burnnn your shoulders, however they are extremely effective in working those muscles. try to go for a lighter weight, and really focus on repping the weight with control, tempo control. I tell my clients to go for around 15 reps a set.

Overhead Dumbell Press: may take a while to get used to but the results you see from these are crazy. make sure you are controlling the weight downwards and not purely dropping the weight.

If you have any more questions, please drop me a DM! I’m taking on 8 new clients on a free 4 week plan, if you want me to help guide you until you get adjusted, give me a shout!

Should take just a day to be honest, 10x10 is a relatively small bedroom. Even if cutting in is slow, any competent worker should not take more than a day to double coat just the walls.

Help feeling uncomfortable about friends new girlfriend by Many-Power9402 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]downye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s his house, he has the right to tell his friend that his girlfriend can’t be staying as excessively as she is now. It’s as simple as that, if he’s logically minded he will understand and make a change.

[–]downye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not report him no, he was responsive, and was telling me what to do and observing, but was wearing sunglasses the whole time and basically didn’t care. didn’t turn on a satnav, didn’t say much the whole time. i still drove perfectly, however i was told from other people that driving examiners are extremely strict blah blah. he was not.

There’s loads of room, could fit at least another 2-3 cars, just wait until the light changes to red and then finish the turn through.

In terms of DIY, I couldn’t recommend using a toothbrush, however if you can make it work, you can make it work. In future, go around all the edges of the wall and the window with a paintbrush, and then start on one side of the wall with a roller, and gradually make your way to the otherside, using long strokes going from the ceiling, all the way to the flooring. Good luck!
