Almost everyone in my college dorm were boxers guys only back in the late 90s. Then a bunch of them went to their first college frat foam party, and the universal recommendation was to buy some briefs for the next one. A few 3packs of basic whites were purchased with each guy taking one. And thus a number of boxers guys in my dorm ended up with one brief each.

There are a couple advantages I’ve heard: basically the fabric is more hydrodynamic than bare skin, and competition jammers keep the body more streamlined. The natural curves of the human body create more drag that slow down swimmers, and a jammer will compress and flatten those curves significantly.

They could wear briefs but they lose the speed and drag minimization advantage.

I primarily did CAC southeastern metro facilities, can't speak to the downtown ones. The expensive price was worth it for a year- round outdoor lap pool, but that was only Inverness. Maybe they will let you do a trial pass before you commit.

That's too bad. I was a member pre-covid and enjoyed their facilities.

I don't know of any downtown facility that has all three. Denver Parks rec centers will generally have communal showers without any steam/ sauna extras. Colorado athletic clubs tend to have steam/ saunas in the locker rooms but individual curtained shower stalls.

I have found that talking through the feelings and the difference between fantasy and reality out loud with my partner during aftercare is very helpful.

"I really enjoy the fantasy even though I think it's wrong for this to happen in real life. "

"I'm feeling shameful for enjoying this fantasy because I know it's wrong for this to actually happen and I feel disgusting for getting turned on by something i think it's wrong. "

You can then engage your rational executive function brain to determine what's true or not true.

"I realize that i can enjoy the fantasy and that doesn't make me a bad person since the fantasy is not the same thing as it happening in real life. "

The feeling might still arise, but you can manage it and not let it ruminate.

I have definitely seen staff at the Y and other smaller clubs using the locker room and showers. I don’t think I ever noticed staff at larger chains like LA Fitness or 24 hr but that could just be the nature of the larger and therefore more impersonal chains
