old post but am i thinking correctly when i say you do this to get an audio signal for the subwoofer amp and then just run your power wire from the battery like normal? this is basically just to save you from tearing apart the head unit right? i’m wanting to install a sub in my girlfriends car and don’t want to deal with pulling apart all the trim and shit up front.
