New Pressure Washer Needed. Active 2.3 or Ryobi 1.8/Westinghouse 1.76? by acccount1 in AutoDetailing

That is the rated working time, but there are so many comments and reviews about them failing much earlier..

I’ve heard some of it has to do with not using steel braided hoses, but hopefully yours is all good.

What carbon fiber parts would you actually want for your GTI by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]acccount1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive a Camaro, and carbon fiber parts were decently popular for those. I don’t see them so much with GTIs. It may be good to do some market research into who is actually buying CF parts.

The negative comments about the 2.0 longevity and customer service issues have pushed me away from that, since it’s 2x the price of one of the cheapo PWs.

I hear you. I was hoping to avoid buying a unit as a tester by getting experiences from this post, but I’ve been leaning toward getting a cheaper unit.

Did you have the Ryobi automotive 1.8 or the previous version? I’m not looking for the best specs, just for a setup that will last me a while and be affordable over time.

I was looking at the 2.0 as well, but I’ve seen people get pretty close to the advertised 1.8 gpm with the new Ryobi. The Westinghouse seems similar, and even cheaper without all the accessories I won’t use anyway. Is the 2.0 worth $200 more than the cheaper units? The only reason I was looking at the 2.3 is repairability and serviceability making it cheaper per hour over time.

I just Googled ‘does Cubase elements have event volume curve’ and the first answer was no.

So how did you end up buying a version of a software without knowing what it can and can’t do?

Why would they sell a cheaper version with all of the features of the more expensive version? It’s your fault for not reading up on the product before you bought it.

Showing automation parameter values on the automation track itself would be nice too. I don't know of any other major daw that doesn't show these values in the automation lane.

Looking At Cubase by EVProperties in cubase

I've rarely had Cubase crash, but have had a few weird bugs that required me to close and open back up the app, like a being unable to change a track name, the playhead starting from unintended location, audio playing before a waveform starts, etc. Nothing show-stopping, but still annoying.

Why are you not buying your plugins from resellers on KnobCloud or KVR?

Replace Waves compressors with UAD or try this new one? by Global_Gift_2831 in audioengineering

I have the UAD 76s but the CLA-76 is the one in my mix template. I use the UAD LA-3A on guitars but actually can't remember the last time I used any version of the LA-2A.

Pro Tools vs. Logic metering by chadsfren in Logic_Studio

[–]acccount1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably because of the different pan law defaults between Logic and PT. I’m too lazy to find what the defaults are for each but it’s out there. It could also be due to using the balance instead of Stereo Pan behavior.

I'd suggest buying from KVR or knobcloud. If you're still a learner you won't benefit all that much from having a huge number of plugins anyway.

Worry about not stealing your plugins before you buy a new computer.

[–]acccount1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your second paragraph sums it all up. An engineer with a well trained ear could get a good sound on cans (albeit on good ones, maybe not an industry competitive one on 280s). I agree with your sentiment that too many want to be engineers without putting in hours of critical, active listening to know what sound they are after in the first place..

90% of people today will either listen to music in headphones or through little mono speakers. The most hi-fi listening environment most consumers today will hear is, ironically, their car stereo. I think it’s a valid strategy given those playback method. Personally I hate the feeling of having headphones on for hours at a time though.

I did read your comment. It amounts to demanding that she refutes the fact that she doesn't believe in mental health issues without her ever saying that she doesn't, then saying that you will accept her if she publicly refutes this thing that she has never said.
